Best way to practice flips and such?

So I go to my local gym to practice a whole menagerie of tricks, and I was wondering if a big springboard into a foam pit is as good practice as a tramp. Or, is it better to try fronts on a tramp or flat ground onto a firm mat on a foam pit? Thoughts?

just roll on the ground. simple enough.

Helped me get my switch dub rodeo 12 down.

Real stoked

spend as much time doing flips as possible, regardless of whether it is on solid ground or off a springboard

it's all about developing air awareness

More than you. A trampoline is best. A 3m springboard set on minimum bounce is fun too, or a 5m platform but those are uncommon. I was at a place that had a 7.5m and 10m, but I never did anything but jump normally off those. There are some bluffs around where I live that have a 20ft, 40ft, 60ft, 70ft "max air" where you have to run off to clear the 40ft bluff below it, and a rarely-hit 110ft (!!!) About 15 people have died at these bluffs, usually from drinking or getting knocked out on impact, and sinking immediately as the cliff continues 100 feet underwater below the bluffs.

Here is the Max Air, he jumps to the inside to gap the 60 foot, which is the highest I've ever had the balls to do. The outer right where it rounds off is about 40.

And here is the 110ft, his first video says 100' but another video says they measured it with tow ropes to 110'. Tough to really see but there is "110ft" spray painted on it.

strap on your skis, wait for a soft day in the park or a pow day, huck and tuck.

really, just grow some balls and do it. it is so easy.

even with shoes how much do you feel it when you jump from that high, is there like a certain technique to entering the water at that point or do you just man up and don't act like a pussy?

I did a 90ft'er last year. Slaps the feet pretty hard. Kinda stings a little. Just gotta keep your arms in. I didn't on the 90ft one and had a few nice marks on my forearms.

OP, Gotta think the tramp is best place but mixing it up with only help with the awareness.

You can jump basically how ever but you have to make sure you are like a stick when you enter the water. If your arms are out they will bruise from the impact. I havent jumped of those bluffs personally but I have jumped of some big cliffs in the Tahoe area
