Best way to lock your shit up

seems like a lot of people on the site have been getting their shit stolen lately. i bought last years karmas and i want to keep them safe because they mean so much to me.

therefore i've been debating whether or not to buy a ski lock and i was wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a certain lock or type of lock that they use.

i don't know anyone who uses a lock for their skis. just keep 'em in your house/car etc. i wouldn't waste money on a lock. except when transporting 'em on rack, just don't store them outside.

why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice?

i mean on the hill, like when you go into the lodge for lunch or something.

oh word. ya i just try to keep an eye on them. if i can't then split the skis up and put 'em far enough apart. or if you're really worried use ski check (if they have it). its kinda a shitty deal with kids stealing skis so I just always try to eat outside with my skis or have a buddy watch em. I think a lock would be a pain in the ass and you might be better off just taking them back to your car.

why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice?

ski check is probably your best bet. but seems like most mountains don't have these anymore.

separating your skis doesn't seem like a good idea. for some reason when i see one ski by itself i'll always run into the other half no matter how far apart they are. one ski sitting by itself seems kind of odd and attracts more attention in my opinion.

just don't eat lunch. who eats lunch anyway?

I thought most Mt. had ski check, anyways yeah ski check is the best way to go if you have it, it cost me 20 bucks for an all year ski check pass.

Just dont let them out of your sight ,ever, and if your not gonna be around check them and ask them to put them in the back so no one can just pull up and snag them. lock the roofrack or you shit will get jacked.

Just dip your dong in paint and smack your helmet with it.

Just get one of those cable locks.

Thread it through your ski brakes and then to the ski rack supports.

Why would you not lock skis up?

For $10, it's a pretty solid investment.

I like those ski keys...they're really small and easy to use...and just about every mountain has the set-up for them

two problems:

1-the lock is easily cut

2-removing brakes is pretty fucking easy.

Solve this by buying a ski key. Best locking system out there.

Bahahaha... or, you could call it the 'elitist snob' cult. Anyways, my family already owns a country club, so no thanks.

Has Ski Key infiltrated Montana yet? I have yet to hear of anyone's skis being stolen where this system is available.

Demo days allow all skiers to try different skis to find out which ones reward their brand of poor technique.

I use ski check. But, when that option isnt open I usually use a cable lock. Like somebody said ealier, if somebody REALLY wants your skis, a cable lock isnt going to stop them. But, for the 'lazy and illprepared' people, they will just skip your locked skis and go to the next un-locked twins.

if you really want to keep your skis safe you can buy two locks then speraye your skis and lock each one of them individually

lock em and ski check

I've never locked my skis up. At our mountain everyone still thinks snowboarding is cool so it is usually the boards that get stolen.

I put one ski on the racks closest to the lift, and one ski near the lodge entrance. It's worked so far.

Ski like you fuck; fast and hard with a stupid grin on your face.

if your lunch lodge is at the bottom of a hill, lock'em up. Its usualyl professional who come in with a van ,send 6 guys out to collect skis and bring them to the van and then drive away. You'll never see yoru skis again. If you eat at a midway point or top of the mountain where there is no easy car access, chances are your skis are fine.

You can go on the bottom bunk and finish it yourself

If you trash your skis enough, people will stay away from them.

If I were you I would just get a Ski key...its easy to use and fast to lock them up. Cable locks are a pissoff when its cold outside and depending on your bindings its hard to find a spot to hook them onto...so ya I would buy a ski key, its only about 20 bucks canadian and trust me, its worth it. I got my skis jacked on tuesday and its the worst shit to experience

hahahahaha I can't believe some people actually think separating the skis up actually works !!! retards... pure retards, I can't even think of a better word. Thieves already have an eye on you before you put down your skis !!! they laugh watching you separating your skis and know exactly where they are the minute you turn your back on them. Buy a goddamn ski key, it's 20$CAD and it'll prevent any theft.

yea a cable lock etc works fine,

no body stealing skis is gonna bother cutting a lock,

there is lock of people around and its too uch of a pain.

there is hndreds of skis at a mountain, theyll just steal another pair
