Best way to film tree skiing

I love tree skiing in some decent pow, but i cant find a good way to get a shot of a flowing line thru some woods, i was wondering if anybody had a suggestion on how to do that, it would break up some of the park monotony of my edits.

If you are shooting another person, I always wondered how it would look to get a shot from above them in a tree. Don't know how it would work, but worth a try.

would probly be cool, esp if you could get 3or 4 people in differnet trees, so you could get a longer seg

filming tree skiing is tricks,

but,

try to set up where you the skier can come into frame either around something and/or at speed,

most tree shots(esp east coast) are going to to be pretty short shots, and seeing the skier stopped or dropping in can make the shots feel really short as opposed to just a highlight of a run,

plan out ahead of time where you are going to frame out the skier, and communicate closely with the skier before where they plan to or where you want them to take each turn.

Throw on a fisheye, and follow someone about 5-10 feet away. Try not to stay directly behind them, or else you will get too much snow on the lens.

try having climbing a big tree a little bit away from where he will ski and then catch the shot with the other trees around and then repeat or if you have enough cams get muttple people to do it

how would you build a wire cam that would catch the shot? it would be sick shots though

ive seen still shots of tree skiing before and they were money!

the camera mna just climbed up some random trees and chilled for the day. waited still hes creww rode bu, they are super sick shots

it's all about communication between the filmer and the skier. try to plan out the line as best as possible and create an alternate line if something may happen so that the filmer can position the camera and their body in the right spot to capture everything the way they want to. besides that it really depends on each scenario and location ex: number of trees, how thick the woods are, if it's a drop or a long line, or just a quick slash turn, just talk it out and you'll get the shot you want
