I was wondering what you guys thought was the best video editing software for a apple/mac product! I want to escape from imovie and try something new. What are your thoughts?

This should be in media and art... but you should try FCP7 Its really easy to use and you can get a very professional look.

final cut pro x for the mainstream editing and adobe after effects for the nitty gritty

sony vegas pro is really easy to use but to go more into effects it would be adobe after effect

so much nonsense in here. go to media and arts. you will probably be told to torrent the cs6 suite. I'm using and love it

I would say premier or Final Cut 7, just learn one really well and know how to use everything in it quickly and you will be fine.

If you are working with Dslr footage then maybe the most recent premiers (cs5,5.5 or 6) will be better as you don't have to convert the footage to pro res which will save some time.

Im using premiere and loving it. But i consider Avid the "best" editing software because you have allmost everything in one software (its not for begginers, so i recommend to start up with premiere). Its like premiere and after effects, only in one programm (perhaps not as mutch choices as after effects but similar). Its pain in the ass to learn how to use Avid, but when u got the hang of it u can edit (allmost) only using your keaboard.

This site provides tutorials for every editing software out there, so u dont have to search all over youtube for good tutorials.

Good luck :)

final cut. its expensive but so worth it if you are really serious about editing. and other programs like blender for 3d modeling, the gopro cineform free 3d software can conform 60 fps to 24 fps for free which is really nice, twixtor and anything else like that. but mainly final cut
