Best Video Editing Program

Hey guys i just started to get into photography and i would also like to get into film. This may sound sort of stupid to all of you experienced filmers out there but what do you guys think is the best film editing programs? I mean, is there a photoshop equivalent for videos? Cheers.
 
Final Cut Pro, but it is expensive (try to get a student discount). I would suggest trying to find something like final cut pro lite or something like that. I know there is something like that out there but I can't remember what it is called.
 
the lite version is final cut express i think.

windows movie maker is your best bet, so much power!!!!!!
