Those are the results and turns out almost all of them are in the US or Canada. So I will probably make the same thread for "skiing overseas" and tally those up. Thanks for the votes now I have a better idea of where I want to go.

See, I go to U of U, and that is rightfully the number one. If you want to learn, and ski go there.

UBC is in the top 50 colleges in the world. well, that's what some study/group said. regardless, its a good school, and is pretty near whistler.

University of Washington should be up there. Really competitive college, especially in sciences, and 45 minutes to the closest area, 3 areas within a 2 hour drive, 3 hours from Mt Baker, weekend trips to Whistler or Hood. Amazing terrain to hike or explore over the summer as well.

haha for a second i thought PSU was Portland State University and i started laughing histerically

hahaha wow do those results pretty much suck.

Are we talking real universities? And real skiing?

Top 8, in no specific order:

University of Utah

University of Colorado

University of Nevada-Reno

University of Washington

University of British Columbia

Western Washington University

Montana State University

University of Vermont (and only because it is a good school with chill people.....no offense to the East Coast, but the skiing just does not compare, no matter what you say).

You can get into a ton of smaller liberal arts schools that IMO as just as good as any above, but the ones listed above cover it pretty well.

bates is where its at. awesome school, skiing for free at lost valley, and not too far from sunday river.

.,...now i only have to get in....

everyone looking for colleges should listen to this guy, although Westminister is pretty legit too (SLC, UT), but probably a bit more expensive.

maybe there should be a college forum area - or i could make a cult - it is a topic that many people on newschoolers will end up discussing sooner or later

they can always search, or there's a lot of college talk in the regionall forums, so there's not alot of need for anything more.

Yeah, I could add another 10-20 smaller schools to that list, and Westminister would be on there. Others would be something like Denver, Colorado College, Seattle U, Seattle Pacific, Pacific Luthern, Puget Sound, University of Portland, Lewis & Clark, Reed, a bunch of smaller East Coast schools (although would much rather be in the west), maybe a few more state schools (UC Davis, U Montana).

But those 8, to me, are really the best combination of good education, good skiing, good parties and women, good cities/towns. They are diverse enough, too, that you can end up in a pretty small town (IE Bozeman), some medium sized towns (Boulder, Bellingham, Burlington), or some pretty big cities (Vancouver, Seattle, Salt Lake, Reno).

university of montana? you're kidding right? I mean sure it's in montana but the closest mountain is snowbowl and snowbowl is shitty. sure you have big mtn 2.5 hours away and big sky and bridger like 3 but u of m definitely isn't where it's at for skiing.

jeeeaaaaa Westminster! im headin there in like 2 months. it is a lil more spendy, but so far its a million times better than any other college ive seen or contacted. they are much more willing to work with your schedule. i only go to school 2 days a week from 1-7. and im still getting 14 credit hours.

Great Poll! Westminster should be in 7th place though. its listed twice... anyways its down the street from the U of Utah, and its just as legit.

i couldnt imagine that any school on the east coast would be in this poll. isnt this for GOOD skiing, which basically means the western half of the US?

As Far as a good education goes those are the best. I was orignally going to go to UNR but then decided U of U.

Wasted State is OK, but there are much better schools.

im suprised WWU isnt higher up there. hour from baker, whish ussually one of the first places to open and gets more snow than anywhere in the world. yeah. i mean there is still more snow there now than a lot of resorts have in the middle of winter. plus if you need to ride park you can just go to whistler which is 3 hours.
