theres alot of great underground bands that barely anyone knows about, post your favorite ones, since im always looking for new music to listen too and download lets get a list of all the best underground or just not very well known bands that are good

Hopes Fall and From Autumn to Ashes are sweet. Too bad FAFTA suck live... sorry. I've been a fan of No Innocent Victim for a while.

Further seems dorever, nerf herder, no comply, shuriken and brand new are all worth checking out.

I don't think boysetsfire are exactly underground..

Yea They were on a Victory compilation even a 3 or four years ago if I remember right, Snapcase is on Victory also.

 
yea gravteck snapcase is awesome...ive seen them twice live, killer shows. and daryl is the coolest guy ever, he'll come and talk to us for an hour after the show; that band truly cares about their fans.

and motoxer, of course popular bands always had less popular and even underground material before they became mainstream. the fact is, though, that i dont really listen to the radio or watch mtv/muchmusic at all, so i wouldnt know if my favourite 'underground' bands have gone mainstream or not. the only reason i assumed blindside was a bit more mainstream than the rest of the bands i listed was because i learned that they have a couple of singles from their latest album on the radio from a buddy of mine, and i still dont know to what extent they've gained popularity at this point.

Senses Fail - punk, The Art Of Fact is abstract rap, The Busters - Skacore, Vowel Movements is real chill rap, Binary Star - rap, Motion City Soundtrack, Reggie and The Full Effect are both punk

 
H2o is definatly good underground but they ar getting more popular. they had a vid on mtv2 or something.

Also they are a different style of music but Massive Attack Sneaker Pimps, and Asian Dub Foundation are really good!

The Juliana Theory are amazing. I used to see them blay basement shows, and now they're working on their third album for a bigger label.

Cursive is good if you like different. Accually, anything off of Saddle Creek Records is good.

Then the normal Count the Stars, Bright Eyes, The Ataris (who aren't so underground anymore...ah the basement show days with those guys were fun!), Tsunami Bomb, The Vandals, Ozma...wait, anyone on Kung-Fu Records is a musical god in my book. But there's a lot of talent in your own city...go out and find it!

Have you seen them live? The are just soooo amazing. I think the best show i was at was them, Further Seems Forever, and The Ataris. Talk about setting a room off.

ok relient k actually is a pathetic excuse for punk. it's like 4 eyar old friendly punk. terrible stuff.

and as for the juliana theory...i thought that they would be soo much better than they actually were...they were the headlining band in a hopesfall/snapcase/juliana theory show...and they undoubtedly were awful, it was hilarious actually. the vocalist wore these flamingly gay pants, and you couldnt hear him at all for half of the show. by the end everyone was throwing things at them, and they just left.

anyhow, in my opinion they are terrible.

Krongos named the best band, Rustic Overtones. They broke up about a year ago but all their songs are amazing. Check their stuff out.

 
Were the pants maroon bellbottoms? Or striped? He has a habit of wearing terrible pants, but I guess thats what makes him...uh...unique.

And the sound wasn't their fault. It was the clubs or the sound guy's. Go see them again, I promise they'll be better.

yea they were terrible, end of story. i dont know why they were headlining a mostly hardcore show to begin with, and then the guy had to come out dressed up all fruity like that (striped pants) and sing in his whiny emo voice in front of a crowd of mostly hardcore guys. they were so bad that, by the end we all either left, or threw things at the vocalist.

I was at that hopesfall and juliana theory show. if you walked back from the stage like 20 feet, the vocals were crystal clear. and dude... its an emo band. so what if the singer looked like a flaming homosexual... they sounded pretty good. no hopesfall... but what ever. but yea.

I know of some great underground bands. there are some local bands around here... like this band called sum 41. they put on such a good show. and there is this girl singer named avril something. she has this great kinda a country/punk underground style. soo good. oh and this other band that are kinda getting a bit more popular these days.... blink 182. they are sooo good.

hopesfall/snapcase/tjt went on tour, so you were probably in a different city than me. i went to the show in ottawa, dont know if you were there or not, but the flaming lead singer of tjt couldnt be heard for the first couple songs. not entirely his fault, but it still made the juliana theory suck that much more.

and what do you mean by 'no hopesfall'? did they not show up?

The Juliana Theory is generally really good live. I'm sorry that they're lead singer seemed to be dressed 'fruity'. But they're a local band in my area (PA REPRESENT!)and he's been dressing like that for years. Maybe I'm just used to it, but eh...don't give up on them just because he dressed like a 'fruit'.

i would have to say Leftover Crack is the only real underground band that has hit the mainstream. as popular as they are they still refuse to put barcodes on their music so it will never show up in Best Buy or Walmart or whatever. Plus all their music is about smokin crack and satan. stab stab.

What the fuck?? 90% of the bands that have been mentioned are most definately NOT 'underground'. H2O? NOFX? MXPX? RX Bandits?? Underground?? Give me a break.

The best underground bands are the ones that you'll never even hear the name of, out there playing five shows a week in shitty clubs.

I still think one of the greatest covers I'vew heard was Shai Hulud doing Linoleum (NOFX), the only thing that sucked was the recording quality (I was on a split cd, but I don't remember the other band off-hand).

Shai Hulud if definately a damn good band though.
