Best Touring Ski

So, I scored a pair of Marker Dukes for $150 and need a new pair of super fatties since I broke my other ones. What is the best touring ski out there...I generally hit up Vail Pass, Berthoud Pass, Cody Pass, etc... 6'0", 165 lbs, like to hit big cliffs. There's probably not too many touring guys on here, but it's worth a shot.

Haha, that's probably the most vague question ever.

Anyways, it all depends on what you want in the ski. You can tour on any ski you want, and the Dukes aren't much of a weight weenie binding so that pretty much leaves the doors wide open. So pretty much just pick the ski you'd want to ride in those conditions, maybe think about weight a little, and get some skins for them! I can answer your questions more specifically if you can narrow down what you're looking for.

First off, how the fuck did you score Dukes for $150. Secondly, that's awesome.

As for skis, going on what was said above, the Dukes aren't that light, and if you want to be dropping cliffs, your options are fairly wide open. You probably don't want skis with a lot of metal in them, just to keep the weight down a little. ANTs would be a good choice, fairly stiff, fairly fat, and quite light as well. Also depends on if you like softer or stiffer skis, and how much you want to spend. Moment Rubys would be sick, they are light, but a little on the soft side maybe, Rossi steezes/ravens may be too expensive. Also the fatter you go, the more expensive the skins are going to be. Gotamas are always a solid choice, but maybe a little on the heavy side? Depends on how much you care about weight. Your options are wide open, and I'm jealous of your situation.

JJs are a very popular touring ski- very light and straight sidecut=good for skinning. there again, they aren't super-fat and might not be suitable if you charge super hard. worth a thought though...

My quiver right now is Volkl Gotamas w/ S916, Rossignol Scratch WRS w/ P18, and a bunch of broken park skis, mostly K2... so I was hoping for around 110-120 waist skis that were light... I guess medium/stiff in the tails.

PM Gear Fatty Bros. 179 or 192. dp skis Lotus 120. Atomic Thugs are fairly light for their size, but on the softer side of things (same with Moment Rubys again). Goode Carbon 116 are EXTREMELY light (but also pricy). Faction 3.Zero or Thirteen.

what about the 4frnt ehp (or something like that). seem to be super light and all. do you want a twin tip or not. the atomic sugar daddy seems to be a favorite as well.
