Best time to buy skis?

I decided to upgrade my skis and wanna purchase a new pair. My current skis are not in a bad condition so they don’t require an immediate replacement so I’d have some time. When would the best time be to purchase em? Should I wait for the end of the season? Wait until beginning of next? Any suggestions or won’t there be any significant price change? Thx for any advice

May through labor day probably.

What skis are you looking at?

Black Friday is another option especially for brands that don't really go on sale ie: small independent companies with limited distribution and not a lot of leftovers sitting in distributors warehouses.

When is Black Friday (i'm not from the states, so I dunno)

I haven’t completely decided yet, debating between armada skis or CTs. I’d be buying them from Switzerland so I’m not sure if you’re idea of Labor Day sales would work. Also Black Friday is the Friday before thanksgiving, in November.

US labor day is the first Monday in September. So basically May through September. You should be able to find good sales on most Armada skis and some Factions I think.

Black Friday is the Friday after American Thanksgiving which is the third Thursday in November. It is the traditional start to the "holiday shopping season" and some retailers have really good sales.

End of season is when I have always seen the best prices.

It does depend on what your trying to get. Example if your trying to get a specific ski, waiting til end of season it will be cheaper but if its a small company like ON3P they might sell them all before the end of the season.

Also Larger stores might have more in stock but they normally won't be priced super low by comparison of small shops that have no room for inventory.

Check your local small shops for better prices at the end of the season.

What you gotta do is go to a ski shop that sells what you want and ask for the rep of the company you want skis from email. Then right at the end of the sesson email them about the skis they want and see if they have a demo pair to sell. Of course you are getting a slightly used ski that won't be able to be used until it's a year old, but those guys wax and edge skis every weekend. I haven't met any that have gotten triggered but I would bet you they would be really mad if someone tore a hole in their base so people who demo generally take good care of them.

Look at eBay during Spring/Summer or a few months before ski season. Look at last season models and you will find a bunch of small shops selling their leftovers online for stupid prices.

I‘m literally in your situation. Have found on sportmania.ch a set of ct2 with tyrola 13 bindings for around 500 bucks not bad tbh, really considering them.
