Best straight rail ski

the title says most of it, im looking for the most poppy, straight rail ski.any good suggestions are greatly great. i know afterbangs are all old out.

afterbangs are sick and would be perfect. but if they are all sold out i guess there is nothing you can do. I would recommend the thalls or moment reno jibs. they are both very durable and have mad pop. anthems would also excel, if you like a wider ski for the bill.

volkl's are great skis, walls are their stiffer pro level ski, i've heard great things about em. ledges, which i have, are their mid level ski, their softer for butters, still lots of pop. both are great on rails, great edges and bases, top sheets chip really easily, i'm missing the very sides on both sides of both my skis in a ton of places, they just chipped and ripped off. but not like top sheets matter anyways.

Are you looking for symmetrical or non-symmetrical? If symmetrical, then try to look for the '09 Atomic Urban Punx. They are a rail specific ski with a "second edge" underfoot to help with rail-slides and not damaging your base.

invaders...

soft & buttery, narrow, and fully symmetrical.......

what more could you want in a rail/jib ski

im thinking about getting a pair of ledges.thanks to everyone who has posted and anyone who will post in the future. +k

as am i, i love mine. the edges are pretty damn durable, no cracks so far and i beat the shit out of my edges on rails. topsheet, thats a different story, but who cares about that...

sorry for the double post but this seems to be a good deal

Anything used, drilled a few times if fine, missing edge underfoot a plus, cheap and throwaway. Spending money on a new pair of skis just for rails seems...

stupid.

Get snowblades, all you need is something that can clip to your foot if your just sliding rails. Rocker doesn't make a difference obviously....doesn't touch the rail.

Maybe wait till next year, check out k2's new skis. Otherwise I have disorderly's and my edges are great. And I like to bring my rollerblading to skiing so... lots of rails/jib stuff.

Pretty sure in the Alpha series, the tip and tail taper in the rockered sections, combined with the cap construction there means a lower swing weight, or at least that's how they market it.

its not the rocker making it lighter though, its the taper. taper means less material, rocker does not. for example reno rockers would NOT be lighter just because they are rockered, since they dont have the taper.

No, obviously if you just bent a ski obviously nothing would change, but the rockered park skis in Armadas line up, would still appear to have lower swing weight, so perhaps don't be so quick to call people idiots.

jesus. the fact that they are rockered does not make them lighter. sure they might have a lighter swing weight than other skis.

afterbangs also have a lighter swing weight than pontoons. they are just lighter skis.

rocker does not increase or decrease weight. just like bending anything does not make it lighter or heavier.

you're right about everything, except reno rockers do have some early taper, not as much as the alpha series though. Next years will have even more.
