Best Skiing in Midwest Hands down

I know there have been some threads in the regionals, along with some older threads. But I have to give mad props to Mt. Bohemia. Holy shit they having a great start to their season!! They already have 112" so far with tons on the way. That is more then a lot of resorts out west at this time. I'm going up on Sunday in hopes to hit the 18" they are predicting. While no doubt I would rather be out west skiing, but for me at this stage in my life, I can't beat it. $99 season pass, $25 to sleep in the main yurt with breakfast. For people that live in Wisconsin/Minnesota, it is the best we have. Sucks for the people that live on the other side of the damm lake, much longer drive. 4 hours from my cabin in Wisconsin.

No snowmaking, no grooming, pillows, cliffs, sick slackcountry with a free shuttle to pick you up on the other side of the mountain, pretty much only place to ski pow in the midwest.

When it snows it really is a special place.

(not me) but from opening day

Yeah I've been trying to get up to Mt. Bohemia for a couple years now, still haven't made it. But yeah Wisconsinites been good as fuck so far. I haven't ever went skiing Thanksgiving weekend till this year

Never heard of this place. Looks like a hidden gem to me.

I lol'd when I saw all the No Beginners and Experts Only signs haha

The reason they have no beginner signs is because they do not groom their runs, because 90% of the mountain is glade skiing with trees, huge rocks, waterfalls, and cliffs. It really is bare bones skiing at it's finest. No lodge, (Big Yurt) 2 lifts, with the shuttle bus system on the backside(slackcountry) side of the mountain. Big part of the mountain is north/northwest facing which allows for huge lake effect.

Everyone already knew Bohemia was the best in the Midwest. You're a little late to this one.

There are lots of people who still don't even know about it. I think it's cool that they have been blessed with a good start to the winter this year. 130" is more then 89" snowbird has gotten. Now I would rather ski snowbird any day, but I have to give credit where it is due. that place is special when it snows.

Bohemia has the most snow of any lift served ski area in United States this season with 157" of snow and more on the way!!!!
