Repost, next time try the search bar before creating a thread, to make sure we don't have 3508 of the same thread which the mods will waste their time deleting

So many tho....mcconkey,koombs,cr, pettit, backstrom, treadway, pollard I know I'm missing many others. It's such a subjective ? It's like best nba player of all time diff stats for dif positions and at least in b ball u have a set group of stats. Skiing is very interpretive. Ya u can count first descents or difficulty of lines and tricks but it all comes down to who's style u like and who has made the biggest contribution to the sport so I hate ur thread cuz its a repost and a shitstorm

Shane McConkey still can't be touched. He's won a pro comp in every genre of the sport, put out some of the best segments of all time, and was the first to ski on fat skis, the first to bring reverse sidecut AND rocker to the game. All while keeping things fun and real.

No one can come close to that kind of a skiing resume.

Personally I think you need to look at things like "vision" and "innovation" to decide who are/were the best of all time. The skiers that changed the sport should be considered the best ever.

Doug Coombs

Glen Plake

JF Cusson

JP Auclair

Pep Fujas

Seth Morisson

Kent Kreitler

Shane McConkey

Tanner Hall

etc...

Jonny Moseley

I might add CR Johnson. Groundbreaking, and maybe the best all-around guy before he got hurt. If he had never been injured, I think he would rank with Candide and Tanner right now.

Moseley changed an olympic discipline. That really says something. He was also a great big mountain skier. Watch "The Realm" to see his first AK lines. He absolutely killed it. He had a good argument for being the best in the world about a decade ago, and if he had kept going I think he would have set a new standard. I wish he had continued in the industry.

Daron Rahlves probably won't get much attention here, but he is one of the best big mountain skiers out there. When one factors in that he was one of the best racers in the speed events, and he has a good argument as the best ever to strap skis on his feet. I don't think any of the other racers have come close to Rahlves as a big mountain skier.

what you meant to say is

"just started skiing in the past 5 years kid says:

edollo, bdog, delorme, hormbeck, wallisch.

been skiing since degenerates kid says:

Candide, Tanner, Seth, Sage, Pollard"

oh wait, everything has to be about east vs. west right?

I'm going to go ahead and say its impossible to name three.

Sarah Burke for all she did for the women's side of things.

Tanner because of the way he skis and how he gives an example of how hard you might have to work, but how it can pay off.

And I'm going to go ahead and say Shane, Candide, and probably CR or Jon Olsson.

pretty sure james bond was the best skier of all time. shootin guys down while hucking off cliffs n shit? nobody has that kind of talent.
