Best ski resort in New England?

I myself have to decide where in VT I'm going, probably Killington, it seems like they have a pretty long season coupled with pretty good trees and terrain as well as a sick park and the best pipe.

Killington, Mt Snow, Bush or Stowe again like last year.

+K for any advice too.

Sorry to thread jack at all, but I think this can help OP too.

i live in boston, have been going to loon since i was young- for a weekend trip its great, not too far away, but can get crowded- theyve been opening new trails which is nice, but if you find someone who knows the mountain, they can take you into nob and over to black mountain, which are great tree skiing areas- black mountain takes like 20 minutes to get to but its phenomenal when theres snow, and fresh powder can almost always be found. that being said loon is a popular destination for massholes- go alittle further to mount snow and you have alot less people and better trees, but my pass at loon works at sugarloaf and sunday river. for the six weeks i have a condo, ill ski loon, and then ill do weekend trips to all the other mountains, but i love loon and swear by it- i can always find an area that hasnt been skied during the weekend, and the snow that fell during the week is untouched and ready to be skied when i get there

Anyone know any deals on passes? This could help OP too...

I am looking for a discounted season pass or one to multiple mountains. I'm from MA too so anywhere in New England.

id say stay away from the big resorts and ski cannon, jay, mad river glen, bracket basin at sugarloaf, magic mt vt and saddleback maine for all mountain. killington blows. but for park i'd say mt snow and loon are tops.

Get a house in Warren, VT. You have Sugarbush right there, Killy and Stowe are about 30-45 minute drives, and the town is so chill. It would be a great spot to have a house

Oh while we're in a thread about EC mountains, has anyone ever been up to the Camden Snow Bowl in Maine? Just curious.

If you live in boston than jimmney peak in mass is a good mountain that never gets overcrowded you do have to buy a park pass but its only two dollars for a season so overall its a fun mountain without crowds and is probably only 3 hours from boston

Smuugs is the least crowded mountain you can find and other than jay peak it gets the most pow of any ne england mtn, the parks are also decent and season passes are like 450 if you buy before mid october, pm me with any questions about the place

Growing up skiing at Killington my point of view may be biased. That being said, I think Killington is by far the best all around resort on the east coast. The dream maker park is decent and has good rails, the jumps are just okay and but use some work. I don't think dream maker is the best trail for the main park but thats another story. The stash is fun for a few runs here and there but its not something I would want to lap. It has some different features that are mostly all wood so its a bit sketchy.

As for trees, Killington has put many of the classic runs on the map that used to be under the radar. This has its upsides for you since it wont be difficult for you to find sick trees to ski. There are still plenty of other stashes around the mountain that you may find after skiing there for awhile. Backcountry does exist, this is not something I am at liberty to discuss. My only suggestion is don't go looking for it, as many people have to get rescued each year when they get lost. If you want to find it make friends with a local.

Overall Killington is just big. If we have a good snow year you have plenty of terrain to ski and you wont get bored like you can easily do at smaller flatter places like okemo, mt snow and Stratton.

For all mountain terrain in vermont I would say sugarbush comes in at a close second to Killington for the central part of the state. The best snow in vermont is at Jay but its a haul to get to as its almost in Canada.

If you want to only lap park all day I would recommend Waterville. They had the best jumps that I saw this past season and they can be lapped with their poma.

I do not want to thread jack OP(this may help him out) But no one replied to my first post so again, does anyone have any idea on good passes? I am thinking about maybe just getting one to my hill (Nashoba) in MA if there are no deals. I probably won't have to much time this year to go up north too with a packed schedule for school.

Any deals on multiple mountains or cheap passes?

10/10 karma

Thanks,

Mark

I would say Sugarbush fits those requirements very well. Don't know about the drive, but the park is good and getting better, the mountain has two areas, is not crowded, has mad river glen next door, and is overall a really good mountain. I would check that out.

people who say mt snow much have never skied any where else, boring park, granted i don't ski park much any more and don't hit more than 50% of the stuff, its usually crowded, they dont get much snow compared to other place in VT, its small in terms of acreage and vertical, crowded, I still love it but not even close to the 'best ski resort on the east coast' I'd do as far as saying MRG is better if we are talking purely on snow and terrain.

Highschool, but I will be deciding where to go up with my friends based on deals and am also interested in any deals for teen passes to multiple resorts or for cheap.

Thanks again!

your too funny... you didnt even spell jiminy peak right and the park is probably the worst park i have ever been at, and i mean ski ward with 300 feet of vertical has a way better park than them

I wish like nashoba /wawa would make a dry slope instead of ward. The features there are rusty and kind of sketch, but it's better than nothing.

Also can anyone answer my post from above, sales are ending...
