Before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, I did search and was only able to find one top that wasn't exactly what I am asking anyways, I was kinda surprised that there wasn't a topic like this, so if there is feel free to ignore this thread and just post the link.

Anyways, I am wondering what everyone's top 5 ski movies are in the last 5 years, and then also what your top 5 ski movies are in the last 10 years. I'm looking to expand my ski movie collection (I only have a couple) and am looking for your suggestions

Alll i buy are meatheads movies but thats caus im from the east and love watching shots of people at places i could actually go to. Reasons however was super good and Seth Morrisons segment in under the influence was dope as hell.

Propoganda

TBC

Forward (Essential simply for the DC segment, and Hibbert)

Refresh (return of warren miller)

and though it might not be as classic, it was always one of my faves High Five.

that was a great movie. But...

happy dayz was sick and an exciting time in skiing

afterbang (snowboard movie 2002, best snowsports movie yet)

clay pigeons

TBC

the skiing nowadays is obviously waay better but i havent had many movies in the recent years that i can watch the whole way through. maybe thats just me getting saturated with ski movies though. edias and refresh had a few really great segments, but i havent watched them all the way through since the first time i watched them

i think part of what makes a movie good is the first / lasting impression it has on people. so if someone saw 1242 when it came out they were all like "woah fuckin crazy skiing wooooot" and since then they have just loved it.

if a new viewer watched that movie nowadays they would likely watch it, think everyone looks like gapers and that none of them are very good and the film just isnt interesting to them.

...IMO

Idea and Believe should definitely be on some of these lists.

I'm not going to say I was around for 1242 and TBC and such, although I have seen them... My first year of movies was the year with Show & Prove. I find it ironic that there are people in this thread that have joined less than a month ago and are claiming 1242. And I'm almost dead sure half the kids on this site that claim 1242 have never seen it.

well.. that's not ironic really. and people make new names...like me. but thanks for reminding me that i forgot to put 1242 on my list

in that case look as In DeepFirst Impression : Sean Pettits mind blowing segmentLast Impression : Shane McConkeys incredible Tribute

Happy dayz. i remember seeing that on insane cinema on fuel and being like shit, this is so much cooler than snowboarding

i was blown away watching that for the first time in a long time the other night...

phil poirier busting left and right cork 9s in pipe like it was nothing! so ahead of its time

made me miss the punk rock/ska days of ski movie soundtracks

I really liked the opening scene of Under the Influence! It was pretty amazing cinematography, flying, and skiing for sure. The way Sage killed it on the spines of Hotel Room was insane. The rest of the movie was pretty good too, but that scene made the movie!

But, the best of all-time is ski school! Hands down.

i didnt start watching level 1 until lls but yeah

Yearbook

Ready fire aim

Long story short

i remember the first time one of my buddies showed that to me...absolutely blew my mind.

ha jon's section where he repeatedly wrecks himself on the giant...tank i think it is? I'm not even sure. Hilarious though. And pep hitting the green twist rail was incredible.

plus happy dayz teaches you that PBP used to have a green tint to their logo at the beginning.

1242 was also an excellent film, as was idea. Yearbook was also a great movie, and i think they managed to hype it up perfectly. It was excellent what the trailer showed it would be.
