Best ski movie at if3 this year?

Into the mind without a doubt. Best ski movie (if you want to consider it a "ski" movie) the level of production was insane, Hollywood movie status. A must see.

Mutiny.I've just seen three movies at IF3 but I have to mention how impressed I was by Stept's feature. They didn't glorify anything, instead they made an amazing documentary on how much is on the line when you dedicate your life to a high risk, generally low reward sport like ours.

Amazing urban, movie-type soundtrack (not simply a playlist), great editing.

For the the first time a ski movie both impressed me and made me think.

Great job.

glad those shots of tom that got let out early didn't ruin the whole movie for you.

I would just like to say I can't wait to buy every every movie mentioned here and watch them all countless times. Skiing is in such a fucking awesome place right now with such diversity and excellent production value that its just fucking great.

level 1's move was all time too btw i was stoked to get a few shots in there

new 4bi9 movie is fire too

+1

bummed I missed them all this weekend but fucking STOKED to be able to watch them whenever and however many times I desire.

seen level 1 and stept so far... level 1 blows stept out of the water. variety is crucial..

in addition... im all for high production value, but a movie with 1/2 of the shots being "beautiful nature shots" / set up for a decent (at best) skiing footage like the last sherpas flick (all i can) can fuckin suck it.

If you can appreciate high production value then you will like Into the mind. Yes, its probably only 60% skiing but holy shit. The sound design alone is enough to watch this movie on full volume. It's literally the best "ski movie" ever made.

This year was a HELL of a year for ski movies... The more I think about this, the more I want to add answers, I enjoyed the shit out of everything so much for completely different reasons and very much so recommend everyone pumps their hard earned dollars into the movie scene this year!

Was rad finally getting to meet you by the way. And for everyone else, if you didn't come to iF3 this year, you better be there next year.

I'm curious, why'd you head to montreal(IIRC) rather than Innsbruck(?) or the other one in annecy?

I'm interested in Valhalla and Into the Mind. A lot of Valhalla was filmed at the hill I skied at last year, any word on how good it is?

Yeah dude! Blake was a year ahead of me though, but we lived on the same floor in res for a few months, super nice dude. Whitewater is the tits for sure, but don't let anyone else know the skin tracks are getting busy haha.

I saw skilluminati, Partly Cloudy, Mutiny, Chasing Skylines and a little bit of Into the Mind. I enjoyed Partly cloudy the most out of all of them for sure. Good Variety and its a fun movie. I have to agree with the above on Sherpas...I had to walk out like 20 Minutes into it. I don't want to see the old dude spin the damn thing any more! Granted the rocker party was calling but I was just not into it. I may have to give it another shot sometime.

You left Sherpas to go to the rocker party? Rookie mistake. The bar is open til 3am...

Supervention was my absolute favorite this year. Along with Partly cloudy and Into the Mind. Such a great year for ski movies!
