Best Ski colleges.

I love skiing, but i am looking at ivy league schools, middlebury and williams. My sister went to dartmouth and didnt really have a problem with not being able to ski. She got around to it pretty well. Oh yea and dietcoke, if you manage to get into princeton, its a good 3.5 hours from windham. I live in northern NJ and its 2 hours from my house.

Damnit. On the map it looks short, but yea, guess not. Owell I prolly won't get in anyway. Its the #1 school in the country and the hardest to get into.

Amherst college is sooooo hard to get into I bet 90% of kids on this site including me couldnt get in it accepts like .7% of all applicants. I live in Amherst and skate at there ice rink everyone in our town hates Amherst they are all up tight rich kids. its funny they are soooo expensive and amherst the town is in the top 5 per capita pot towns in the us its a small town but id say 95% of kids in my HS smoke pot! its currzzy!

im tellin ya, montana state is the place to be...big sky, bridger bowl, cheap, hella beer, chicks, and montana

You can drink and drive in Montana, no speed limit..

what else do ya need?

Ski the cold smoke

id say uvm, but u should think of looking at st. lawrence in canton, ny. good school, good mountains and cooollllddd. depending on grades look at dartmouth and middlebury

im at UVM very chill here, and whoever says 30,000 isnt a big school has shit for brains

'The deep south? Isn't that the place where the black people are lazy and the white people are just as lazy, but they are mad at the black people for being lazy?'

I'm in the same position as you. I seriously considering university of nevada, Reno cause its about an hour or less to all the sick tahoe resorts and you get to live in Reno. Of course if I'm too fucking dumb to get in there, theres always South Lake tahoe community college

and more, much more than this, I did it my way

'So you're a skier?'

'No, I prefer to refer to myself as a double boarder'

skifree919: what did ur sister think of Dartmouth skiing? actually, how's skiing in the northeast in general? im from cali, never skied on the east coast but everyone says its not too great. also, anyone know how far away the closest skiing is from the Boston area?

Dartmouth has a small mountain, Dartmouth Skiway, pretty close by. Then most southern VT mountains are less than an hour and half away.

of course east coast skiing wont compare to west coast skiing, but killington, sugarbush, and some NH mountains ive never been to are around there. The dartmouth skiway is pretty crappy. But probalby 90% of the people at dartmouth ski, so you wont have trouble finding people to ski with. Its defintiely a really nice school with good skiing not too far away

yea im goin to CU next year, im sooo stoked, party scene is nuts and they are ranked #8 by playboy for the hottest college girls and skiing there is dope as well

Unless you are a PERFECT student i strongly doubt that you will get into dartmoth, last i checked there acceptance rate was like 16%. My friend made it in but he is extremely smart and did amazingly well on his SAT.

Is Montana State really the shit?

I'm a senior and im filling out the application right now?

how close is the skiing...

and is the skiing good...but anything west of the mississippi is great compared to NJ skiing...

Dirty Jerzzzzzzzz

go to Utah. and Salt lake has a large punk/hardcore music deal. think the used they are from slc.

the time is now. go skiing.

I go to Mines. Do not come here to ski. IT aint a ski or party school. Its is a work you ass off, no girls kinda school. I'm here cause I know that it will be worth it for me, but to most it wouldn't be.

The smart man does not know everything, rather the smart man admits when he knows nothing.

university of nevada at reno.....u no it. dont go to uvm...unless you like fake hippies that drive audis.

Give me Keystone or give me death.

Montana State:

Bridger Bowl 16 miles (400 inches annually)....dean cummings grew up skiing here

Big Sky: 39 miles (400-450)

Jackson Hole: 3 Hours

Grand Targhee: 2.5 hrs (500+ inches)

Utah resorts: 6 hrs

Montana State is only 18,000 for out of state tuition and is as easy to get into as a community college...it is the place for a college kid who only wants to ski.

Sierra College in Truckee is in Truckee. As is Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, 20 minutes from Sugar Bowl. Enough said.

Ohio State does have close to 60,000. It is huge, but it also has 3 or 4 branches. Still, I think anything over 15,000 students is pretty big as long as it is not a commuter school. I have visited both CU and MSU. MSU is really close to Bridger, morning classes, afternoon turns.

'That's disgusting'

'I'm going to tell her you said that'

why is everyone bitching this kid? just because ns skiers are supposed to be macked out with a piece and some kevlar, it doesnt mean that some smart or rich kids ski this shit. its not about background, or stereotypes. yanks need to learn that. give him props for getting to a sweet universitsy because that = more money than you will get.

diet coke, you must be one smart ass motherfucker if youre talkin about goin to harvard and yale and all. you like number one in your class or what? cuz not any regular skier can get into a school like that, let alone the cost of tuition if you're a fuckin genius like that.

Id go to Univ of Utah instantly, but its in a huge city, there are few parties, and the rules/laws are all fucked up bc of mormons

UBC - Whistler $384.13 seasons pass. 3 local mountains, 25 min away, Baker 2 hrs south, Big White 4 hrs East.

what state do you live in? try to go to a state school if you can, its way cheaper. i live in new york and im going to suny plattsburgh, its a half hour away from whiteface and gore, not too shabby.

Yeah, because you know I am really worried about picking a school that is close to a punk/screamo venue too. Maybe you should pick a school that is, I dunno, good?

Skiing is a somewhat legit factor...but dude...screamo?

We'll have you dead pretty soon.

Cross the University of Oregon off your list. I'm 40 minutes away from Willamette Pass (Tiny as fuck but they've got two terrain parks)...and roughly 2.5 hours from Mt. Bachelor (bad ass mountain). But ya know, now that I think about it I can do some halway descent fucking skiing here. Nevermind, this place is descent. Now it just needs to fucking snow.

I'll tell you where...someplace warm...a place where the beer flows like wine...where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of capastrano...I'm talkin' about a little place called Asssspennnnn...

Uinversity of Washington for park with good snow and good BC Summit-at-snoqualmi or Western Washinton Uinversity Best BC short of Heli-skiing Mt Baker.

'I am really worried about picking a school that is close to a punk/screamo venue too'

did i say im chosing any of these schools for sure? nope. im just trying to see whats out there that would apeal to me. i ski and go to concerts. thats the majority of what i do and plan to do something in either of those fields so it does kinda matter. bitch.

hey dietcoke dude...i go to U of U and im not sure but im pretty sure that ive got the best skiing in the country at my door step right now...go work on ur 180's and safety grabs

middlebury rocks the house. it has the Middlebury College Snow Bowl like 10 minutes away and its close to pretty much every good resort in teh east.

You smell of meats and cheese

Go to UVM and ski Jay Peak. It is just that simple.

it seems like this stage of life for a lot of people around our age is like when you are playing a video game and you beat the Final Boss, only to find out that was just a decoy Final Boss and the real Final Boss is about 50x harder. and on top of that, you used all your special tricks to beat the Decoy, and you are also low on life. and you have a crappy third party controller.

Any College in Utah is the way to go. The U is just over a half hour drive to Brighton, Snowbird, Alta, Solitude, Park City. The party scene is ok. The music scene is off the hook. For example- Sparta last week, Del The.... the week before, Lots of cool little venues that get good acts on the way to Cali and Vegas. We were hiking Alta in late September. Need I say more.
