hey guys im a junior and im starting to look at colleges and i wanna go some place thats good for skiing. im thinking about boulder but could you guys name some other bigger schools. Also if any of you are into punk/screamo could you say if their near venues or anything. thanks a lot.

I want some good like big schools on the east coast. Is there any decent mtns near Cornell (Ithaca NY) or Dartmouth (NH)? How about how far it is to some decent mountains from University of Penn (Philadelphia PA) or Princeton (North NJ)

univ. of Colorado or univeristy of Utah.

utah has better, much closer skiing, but tahts all it offers.

colorado you drive an hour farther to ski not quite as good stuff, but the party scene is boulder is way way way better than salt lake cities

there is montana state, near big sky/bridger bowl

and western state in durango near cb.

DietCoke, i think there's a decent school out there named harvard............or yale...just heard of it. if you're going choosing a college for skiing, fuckin don't make the mistake of going to the east coast.

anyone know about the party scene at montana state, i just know the ski areas its near.

If you have the grades and sat's to support your decision, middlebury and dartmouth are great colleges in VT/NH. Also for small schools, bates, colby and bowdoin are close to some skiing in Maine. But a slightly less demanding shcool as somebody said already is UVM. Im a junior too so im into all this college stuff now. SAT's are a bitch

dude if u can get into Upenn and Cornell skiing shouldn't be ur first priority those schools are top 10-20. Upenn isnt real close to skiing but its one good fucking education.. Cornell is a really nice campus and they have the tallest rock climbing wall in North America, its worth it just for that haha

I'd say UMaine Farnham, UVM, UBC, U of Utah or Utah State.

I GO TO MONTANA STATE AND IT'S FUCKING ROWDY!!!!!!!! WE DO SO MUCH YAYO AND DRINK VODKA BY THE GALLON AND HAVE SKIED BIG SKY TWICE AND BRIDGER IS OPENING SATURDAY AND IT'S GONNA BE SO DOPE!!!!!! and the education is pretty good too.

UBC. It's got whistler/blackcomb, a wicked party scene and, if you want, you never even have to leave campus grounds. it's a fully self-sufficient little city. get your ass to Canada.

Screw this I'm going skiing

well, if you want a music secene and you want good skiing, you got to go with cu boulder. i dont need to go into the skiing but as far as music goes, there are a ton of realy realy good local bands, and prety much every band that is anybody, come through here about once every 3 to 6 months, i go to tons of shows, ive seen incubus twice in the last 4 months, if you got any more questions on the sceen here, ask. you also might want to look into colorado school of mines, csu, or northern colorado. i know people at all of them.

'what?' Lauren every time you ask her a question for the first time!

skiing what i thought this was a porn site and every one i was talking to were sexy ppl ..i thought skiing was a sex term we all uesed. damn!-twintiprider

Dude, Montana State is the Shit. Bridger is 20 min and Big sky is 40 min. Big sky's lone peak is insane. Also, if you like to drink, come to Montana...allt there is here is booze and skiing. Not a great place to pick up chicks though. Easy school too

i would like to go to university of utah but unfortunately i'm too stupid so i'm going to SLCC (salt lake community college) for a couple of years. i'm just sayin for some of us that aren't as academically...focused...it's a good choice to get started.

yupp.

Montana State you need one of the 4 to get it:

2.5 GPA

top 1/2 of class

1030 SATs

some low ACT score

You dont have to write no essay or nothin either

if you're interested in tourism management as a major (my major), university of new hampshire is your best bet, their program is very well recognized

If you guys what to have access to over 12 top ski resorts and go to what appears to be a average university its all about U of Nevada Reno. Or you could just quit school and go to South Lake Tahoe Community College.

I think you have about three choices if you want to go to a four-year school. The three are Utah, CU and Montana State. As for the party scenes, any school you go to as long as it is not in Kansas is going to have a party scene, I don't have one friend who has not enjoyed their school's party scene no matter where they have gone.

almost everyone at UVM skis or snowboards, they have school sponsored rail jams..50 min to sugarbush or stowe. its snowing right now. there are rails all over campus. id say this is a good ski school. and the school isnt bad either

University of Reno, Nevada. Sierra Nevada College in Incline, Tahoe. University of California, Davis. UNR is like 30-45 min from tahoe and is relatively easy to get into. SNC basically at the base of Diamond Peak in tahoe and like 20 min away from every other resort. UCDavis is 1.5-2 hours from Northstar, Boreal, Sugar Bowl, Squaw, and Alpine but imo is the 'best' school out of the three.

Yeah i was thinking about Dartmouth but thats like a 8 hour drive to school for me, and my rents prolly wouldn't want me to do that, despite it being Ivy League and all. Actually Princeton the more I think of it wouldn't be all that bad. Its prolly only an hour or two to get to Windham and all those other east NY resorts.

Still, education comes first for me, skiing just as a bonus since most of the schools I'm looking at are in the northeast. How far is Yale or Harvard from good skiing?

amherst is really nice if you have the grades and if you don't thers umass/amherst thats alot easier to get into.

Hello, Please message me.

The past 2 posts drop 'Ivy League,' Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, and Amherst. It's a good thing that Newschoolers exists so that you guys can talk about skiing. If you go to any of those schools you won't be doing any. And Dietcoke, isn't it a little pretentious to list THE premier schools in the country when we're talking about ski schools here. Those are the most selective schools in the world and the farthest thing from being ski schools. I'm not telling you that you won't be able to get into any (or all) of them, but you can seriously forget about ever skiing for the next four years if you do. At least you'll have Christmas!

ohio state doesn't have 60,000 students, do they? that's just ridiculous. my school's got around 40,000, i can't imagine it being much bigger.

My sister goes to Upenn and that school is sick everyone thinks you only have time to study but she fuckin parties everynight she got in for sports so she doesnt acre about her grades its a sweet school and philly is so nice. But why do you care about skiing if your looking atIve League?

Um, just because you go to a good school doesnt mean all u do is study. Like that person said, she goes to Upenn and still parties everynight. Going to a good school means you get a good education, not that all you do is study.
