Subies are the shit... handle beautiful in bad conditions... wrx.. throw some studs on and you can drive accross antarctica.... i have a 97 jetta though.. it handles fuckin sweet with studs too... if your lookin for a SUV though.. i dont know forshore... 4runner would be the shit.... or get the mercedes G-class and roll in style.. hells yes

i'd say range rover, if you really want the best. freakin super nice and looks sick with lots of room and awesome snow/off road capabilities. now if you mean the smartest car to get, that is a different story because then you have to factor in cost and gas mileage and whether or not you want to take a super nice vehicle up to the hill every time you go. for that, there are a whole bunch of sweet options, and a lot of them have already been mentioned. basically if it runs and has four wheel drive, you're good.
