My parents are getting a new car and say I have major input, cause I will be driving it a lot. What is the best ski car, but is also good for around town.

Grand Cherokee, X-Terra, Outback?

I have no clue, give me some ideas.

i have a grand chero. i LOVE IT! mines a 2000, but the new ones are soo sick. they are great like i don't have a ski rack and i am lazy so i have had 2 pairs of skis and 2 pairs of boots in my car for the last week. and its great for offroading and they are really good looking cars. i honestly LOVE mine, and they are fast as fuck and handle great

the jeep is only fast if you get hemi wich is 44 g's or so. I would go with an outback high output limited myself.

 
no i don't have a hemi in mine, its a v8 with a 4.7 liter engine and goes 0-60 in 7-8 secs, its fast

I dont think that anyone should be buying an suv for speed. Its nice, but you still shouldt be buying it just for that. Get a subie or a audi quattro.

i'd go for a jetta, diesal, older model, cause they're awesome on gas, and just stick a rack on top,a dn you're good to go! plus they look sick, and they're really good value.

depends where you live, if you live at a high altitude a car with a supercharger would deff. be your best pick. Like an exterra or a wrx. Trucks are cool too, you can bring snow back down to the city for urban rails.

I changed mine to a mazda 6 awd turbo, too many people have jeeps audis and subis although if they ever made an STI in wagon form I would jump on it.

 
Subaru for car... and then id get a Ford for a truck cause a truck would be cool to have if you have it in the mountains

I have an Xterra and it is really good for carrying ski stuff around and handles pretty good in snow/ice. The only thing is that I really have to jump on the accelorator on steep mountain roads (i70 through the passes) to get it to speed up going uphill. I would go with a new jeep (hemi) if you can afford it.

 
subaru wrx impreasa wagon. they handle amazing in the snow! and you can fit a lota stuff in them. they are fast. and cute looking. i have an 05 in rally blue...im in love!

i just got a 2005 suburau legacy. it handles great in the snow and is a nice looking car as well. subies aren't too expensive either.

speed would only be a factor if you could actually drive it as fast as you wanted on the way to the mountain, AKA anywhere in Europe, but since we are crippled by speed limits, it shouldnt matter that much, so pretty much go for practicality and cost efficiency

as a owner of a 00 jetta these cars are hot... interior wise and exterior the back seat folds down nicely enough to fit a pair of 177cm skis and there is still ample room just one problem...these cars SUCK in the snow...

i've got a 96 subaru impreza coupe. 5 speed, AWD, SICK ski car.

If it wasn't crippled by the 1.8L engine, it would be amazing.

Find yourself a 2.5RS. an older one that's cheaper, so that you can spend $$$ on performance upgrades.

i got a buick redezvous. it handles extremely well in the snow, has 4 wheel drive, space for 7, plenty of room for skis, but its a v6, but its awesome. its kinda expensive though, like 35grand or something

go with the outback... its great for around town and handles really well in the snow... but a box on top and you're set... the only problem is the leg room in the back... theres not very much, but my friends don't bitch because they're lucky to get a ride

Subaru they are great in the snow and if you can get your parents to get wrx you can have fun with it on the street
