It's not a specific boot or brand although full tilts are great. Go to your ski shop and get professionally fitted. Spend a good amount of time at it too, they know best. Take their recommendations and run with it

first of all, shinbang isn't just caused by the boots, the main cause is yourself, try landing a bit more forward instead of backseat...

second of all, your boots need to fit well!

a fulltilt that doesn't fit your foot might cause shinbang and other discomforts!

third:

booster straps and buckles,

booster straps are nowadays pretty standard on most boots, and even tough they're not real buckles and just velcro, use em! strap em tight and they will definately help preventing shinbang...

also make sure your other buckles are fastened properly! loose boots can cause shinbang, but too tight boots might hurt your shins as well, just experiment with what floats your boat!

4th: properly adjusted canting of the boots might solve shin-problems as well....

5th:

3-piece shell designs might help a little, examples are the FT boots, the recent nordica freestyle boot line (ace of spades, double six, etc....) and the dalbello krypton boot series

Sorry if you keep seeing me post this, but people keep asking about shinbang and these are the main causes of shinbang. You need to know that not only 1 thing causes it. If you have it, examine this list:

-not having a footbed

-boot is wrong size (usually too big than too small)

-continually landing backseat

-having a gap between the tongue of the boot and your shin, either because you have chicken legs or simply because the tongue just doesn't match up to your leg

-boots that are too soft for you

-boots that are too stiff for you

-boots that are too low on your leg

so, if you do the opposite of what I just wrote, shinbang is most likely not going to happen to you. As you can tell, a properly fit boot is your best bet against getting shinbang.

Ok i understand what you are saying and i'm pretty

Sure the reason of my problem is that my boots

Were'nt properly fitted but this year i gotta choose a new

Boot .... What do you suggest me in last years boots ?

we cannot help you on that one, only a person who can actually see and analyze the properties of your foot and its interaction inside a shell can do that. therefore, you must go see a boot-fitter.

The fact that after people tell u that u need to get a properly fitting boot to stop shinbang, and u ask people on line what fits ur foot blows my fucking mind!!!!!!!!

It is definetely not 100% your riding style, its more like 60/40 I would say. (Style vs. Boots.)

I had a pair of head boots at the beginning of last season, and the shin bang I got from those boots was almost unbearable, I would get bad bang even from just skiing groomers all day. The boots also fit me like a glove I might add, no movement whatsoever. I then got some SPKs, which did not fit me quite as nicely as the heads did unfortunately, but I got way less bang than before.

I love my salomon spks, i dont think you can go wrong with any salomon park boots. if thats out of the question make sure your boot is tight around your shins and calfs. there shouldn't be any space between the boot and your leg. shin bang comes from your shin slamming into the back of your boot then you land backseat.

oh and...

But another thing this year on my boots i didnt

Have booster straps maybe thats another thing that didint

Help? , but i'm not saying that i got shinbanged all year long too !

Im just asking for ideas :)

it's not just how the boot fits your foot, but how the boot matches your leg shape and height. You might not have any movement or slop, but it could still be the wrong match for your leg and thus a reason why you could get shinbang from it.

If you have feet and legs that fit the boot and you are riding it in a proper size then there will not be shinbang

I fit a salomon ghost in a 26.5 perfectly so i use them

get a boot for fit not for looks or for brand

how was it riding the short bus to school everyday? Good for u for figuring out how to use the internet, u are an inspiration to us all!
