Best ski area in the Pacific Northwest?

yup stevens is good and the food is good and the beer is good...doh if you're not driving. My Dad built most of the lodges at Snoqualmie Summit and engeneered the lift they used to call 'Big Bill' (My dad) and I lived half a mile from it until I was pretty much through high school; skied e very day after school so i still love that piece of s**t skit area in spite of the fact it rains 83.45% of the time

Shit man that must've been a dream com true. Even though Snoqualmie sucks, I would fuckin kill to live on a mountain.

Like I said, if you want better snow/powder (thank you rainshadow effect), consider going inland. North Idaho/Eastern WA. Schweitzer, Silver Mountain, and Lookout.

Lookout's small but (arguably) gets the best powder.

Silver is a lot larger but you never know what lifts are running - they'll misreport all the time or you'll show up and the gondola is closed due to wind.

Then Schweitzer, easily the best in the inland northwest all around. Best park, although the crew have been known to be slackers. Great snow and lots of mountain to explore. Plus great sidecountry/lift-accessed backcountry terrain.

all you "washington" skiers are forgetting echo valley ski area and badger mountain ski hill. thus proving you are all evil trolls from skiwashington.com who refuse to recognize the two best ski areas in the state.

I didn't mention Echo because its a personal favorite of mine. Didn't want the word to get out. I definitely shred over by Chelan whenever I get the chance.

going to crystal isn't a bad idea, if its good conditions, and maybe a nice day.

watch out for the snoody ass old people though.

baker gets dumped on but is farther away than any other resort

if you want good park, snowcompton or stevens is the way to go.

dont go to mission, theres nothing there. seriously.

stevens is by far the best all around but if your looking for a lot of pow go to baker or crystal i guess. Stevens does get good snow tho.

yeah its not whistler, but come on now, you wouldn't want any of this?

numerically, sure, but in terms of vertical relief and permanent snow, no comparison. You can be chilling at sea level looking right at rainier, and it has the most ice volume in the lower 48.

as for the creator, stevens, crystal, baker - keep it simple and good.

on the east side of the state we get really dry pow most of the timel super fluffy. makes for some sick skiing
