Best skate shoes

Since I see skate related threads all the time I would guess NS knows a thing or two about skateboarding and the products that surround it. I've been skateboarding for a long time now and have gone through more pairs of shoes than I can remember. It would be great if you all could share some knowledge on what shoes are the most durable or just the best overall before I waste more money trying every pair on the market. +k for good recommendations

For actual skateboarding- anything leather. I am really enjoying a pair of leather janoskis right now.

for downhill longboarding- vans classics. I love the board feel and I don't have to worry about tearing the canvas in less than a day.

I used to love skating in mid dunk SB's, also had a pair of half-cabs. Zoom tre's were sick but they don't make them anymore and are really hard to find. Currently beating the hell out of some old Busentiz's.

I had a pair of dc mike mo's but the bottams started falling off after like 2 weeks, then I got some free laki x spitfire shoes and i've been using those for a few months and they're holding up great

I personally have a pair of Lakai, not sure on the exact ones though, they are pretty solid. Super comfortable as well.

My other shoes have always been Nike SBs. I've got a pair of janoskis and team editions, the team editions feel a bit tougher than my janoskis but that might be because the janoskis are canvas.

Despite all this they have all stood up to well over a year of hard skating with no holes. They look pretty shagged but they are still solid shoes.

It depends on how you prefer to flick. I have two shoes that I keep in rotation...

Supra's TK Stacks: They have a rounded sole so it's not as hard of a flick.

Nike's Stefan Janoski: The original has a flat sole and personally I feel like it gives me much more pop. Solid for crisp kickflips.

Both are great low top shoes.

I'm just starting to get into skating, but like others have said my leather janoskis are holding up super well and I like the way they feel. I think they give some pretty good pop and grip
