Best simple tip you've ever received about your skiing?

For me it was definitely 'properly focus on what your foot is doing inside your boot and try and actively think about keeping the weight spread flat and evenly'

I swear my skiing improved instantly when i started consciously thinking about it this way.

So what's yours?

If you take your shoes off before you put your boots on, you'll be a lot more comfortable.

"Don't care too much about what people think about you in the park."

Once I stopped thinking about how stupid I looked when learning tricks in the park I was able to progress much faster

I was really scared to try my first backy. I could do doubles on ramps, but I could never bring myself to do one on snow.

Then my friend said "don't think about it". I learned 4 new flips that day.

- Wear a helmet

- Just send it pussy

- If you never fall, you aren't trying hard enough

- Speed never killed anyone, stopping is the problem

- Square shoulders with the fall line.

- This isn't a tip but a kickass drill: Practice turning while lifting your inside/uphill ski off the ground but leave the tip only on the snow (just the tip). At the same time keep your shoulders square down the fall line with your hands out front.

- See a bootfitter

Get more front seat, drive with your shins in the front of your boots.

I used to spend most of my time flexing my tails and falling on my butt

Two very similar things:

1: Be aggressive, attack the hill

2: Point your shoulders down the hill, and turn your legs when you want to turn or slow down.

Learned this when I was 5

Driving with your hips, keeping them forward helped me tremendously. Also, always keeping my hands in front of. Even on flat stupid groomers. It got me into to habit of keeping them forward so now they are always there to keep me front seat.

"Don't be a pussy."

Really, once you get past any and all mental blocks, everything comes so much easier.

don't think about things, just do them. getting worked up over what could happen has no use to you and if you can block off the thoughts that come into your head making you feel anxious and nervous, you'll improve much faster and safer

look at the end of the rail

your body goes where your eyes look

this goes for spinning too. going for that blind two but not turning your head/shoulders? nah son

keep your uphill hand engaged so your shoulders don't turn up the hill in your turn, helps your upper body focus on the fall line so transitions between turns are easy style
