best resort?

I know everyone's gonna be jealous but I think I can get away with taking the winter off from school to ski anywhere in the US. I'm looking for suggestions on where to go. I don't have a car so I want to live close to or on the mountain, and I probably will run out of money so I need a good job market.

I've heard vail is considered the best resort now but I've also heard its pricey. Does anyone know what season pass prices are gonna be? Is it easy to find cheap housing? Thanks

I think somewhere in the frisco/dillon area in summit country would probably the best place. I know there are buses that go to breck,keystone and copper, and if you have a ride a-basin,loveland, ski cooper, and vail are nearby. Plus there are lots of places to look for jobs (ski resorts + all the towns around there).

ya breck is like 5 miles outside of frisco and a-basin is something like 15...copper is around 30 and vail is around and hour or so...beaver creek is 10 min from vail and eagle is chuck full of mexicans so i wouldn't go there they've got the job market stacked...frisco doesn't sound bad

if you're on the east coast, find a place up by Jay Peak. Dunno bout jobs as i'm in skool, but it's a sick mtn

Aspen Snowmass -Ya shit is pricey but get a roomate or some little condo? But pricey means also u get paid a lot! Im a lifeguard all i do is sit around all day. And get half our breaks every hour! and i get 12 bucks an hour! so u can get mad jobs here! plus it is close to other good resorts as well as home to X-GAMES

Look into Frisco it has a good transit system to the resorts I spent 2 weeks there on a roadtrip i took out west this spring its a nice area (little pricey but that goes with anywhere near a good resort) Uhh I drove by vail on my way to Vegas from there and It look liked shit. there was like ten trails open and they looked gay. Its very low altitude and has no above the tree-skiing (at least from what I saw from the road) Mammoth Lakes is a cool town I visited a few weeks later it had a good vibe to it.

well we all know mammoth is the best place to ski (for park), but i dont know if theres any substantial places for jobs.

i cant believe nobody said Salt Lake city. several resorts just out of town, and its a big city, so lots of jobs. anyway, i am just mentioning it. my choice would be between all the good resorts in Colorado.

yea come to colorado, there are a lot of opportunities, and ice_is_scary is so wrong about vail, you will know that you are DEAD wrong if you ski there, when did you drive by there, april 21st?

i'm a stupid american so whistler is out 'cause I would have to apply for a work visa. Most resorts seem to want people who will work full time, unless you know something I don't mammothpunks. the frisco area looks like it may be a good idea. I'll have to check it out. thanks guys, and feel free to make more suggestions.

i just looked at the summit county area in colorado and it looks sweet. they have a three resort unlimited pass to breckenridge, keystone and arapahoe basin. i know these places have pretty good park but is there lift accessed backcountry terrain also?

who cares if the BC is lift accesssible its better for the BC to not be accessible that makes it the road less travelled! I hate resorts where u can ride a lift to the top of a mountain where BC is one side and groomed is the other because that BC gets skiied out soo quickly and skiied out by retards. u shold have to hike for BC!

u gotta get the reward for making the hike. U gotta trudge thru powder going up a hill for 20 minutes to get a perfect face with waist deep powder and a 10 foot cornice entrance. thats what its all about!
