Rocky is just my favorite rapper right now I don't know it's probably just because his last album was super sick in pretty much every way him and joe fox killed it together and they should keep making music together because songs like max b and pharsyde are just absolutely fantastic.

That's where I first really heard him. My roommate and I would play that A$AP album all the way through after class and play FIFA after class my sophomore year of college. It was either that album or Good Kid Maad City. Both of those albums bring back such good memories haha

Honestly those are two of my favorite albums of all time that's real rap and I'd take that any day over what people call rap now. Kendrick and rocky are just on a whole different level than anyone else now. Up high on the list of best rappers but they'll never compare to the all time greats like meth biggie or pac but they're definitely up there

id have to disagree. kendrick definitly talks about some real shit but asap falls into the category of "anyone else now" by rapping about popular materialistic topics like money, drugs and girls. Kendrick on the other hand has a point and meaning behind his lyrics and theres not a lot of modern day artists that are the same. i still enjoy listening to asap and other artists like future and people like playboi carti but if i wanna hear something thats somewhat deep or has some meaning ill usually turn on some pusha t, kendrick, mick jenkins, J.cole, pro era, the list goes on. if you look into different artists and what they're actually rapping about it can deepen your knowledge of music and rap so much. just some food for thought

You have some very good points dude kendrick's new album was definitely deep and I really think it was from his heart for sure I still love asap because his sound is just great in my head and even though he's becoming materialistic he's still one of my favorites. I listen to a lot of old school rap all the time so I have quite the rap library and I have some playlists full of deep meaningful rap just for whenever. But overall good points man

Asap's been rapping about the same shit from the start. If anything he expanded his subject matters

asap is not inherently political but touches on some current issues in a couple of his songs. if you actually breakdown some of the lyrics you can see where he references recent police brutality. He also discusses issues about public perception/media and how artists are effected by this using examples of curt cobain and Michael jackson. He isn't nearly as overtly poetic and political like kendrick but definitely has some deep songs.

Kendrick is entirely different. The title alone to pimp a butterfly is fucking poetic and speaks on about society on multiple levels. I dont even think he is that amazing but he stands out because the majority of rap is fucking trash nowadays

I enjoy Guy Fieri, but usually get down with Paul Wall. Whenever I'm hurt and ski groomers Bob Ross is a necessity.

I think A$AP is really good. Every album that he has put out has been totally solid. I also think that Travis Scott is up and coming.

No one. I'm not a fan of the rappers nowadays. Rap songs are all about sex, drugs, money, and infidelity now. I miss those days of Eminem. :(

Ever heard of the Flatbush zombies? I feel like you could enjoy listening to them if you haven't. They just dropped a new album on the 11th it's 3001: a laced odyssey

You're listening to the wrong music - and Eminem was only good in his days of Infinite.

Oh fuck off, I'm so tired of people who put zero effort into finding good music saying "man rap sucks everyone's garbage it's all the same." There is SO MUCH out there, conscious stuff, religious stuff, positive stuff, you just have to look for it.

Idk what you mean by his Infinite days but he was fucking sick up until after Encore. Even Encore has some of his better tracks but Relapse and everything after is not his original style and I am not a fan of it.

the best rapper right now is probably kanye west or kendrick lamar but my favourite new rappers are asap rocky, young thug, travis scott (mostly because of his production) and drake.

Yes, I know the album. Not sure what you meant by his "Infinite days" ...

Slim Shady LP and Marshall Mathers LP are the same exact style as Infinite but refined and under the production of Dre. It's just silly to say Infinite is his best work. I doubt even he would agree.

i wouldn't say travis scott is up and coming, dude has been on the mainstream rap scene since like 2013.

boohoo, you're just a lazy listener. go out and find other rap that has no reference to "sex, drugs, money and infidelity" since it seems to upset you.

We disagreed greatly in my hip-hop thread, but I can get behind this post wholeheartedly. I loved Pro Era when they started but haven't been impressed as of late. I do like that Joey is starting to experiment with different styles. He actually went in hard on a trap beat with G Herbo

That g herbo beat was dope. Metro is the most talented producer in the game
