any thoughts? the closest shop to me, Schuss, kinda sucks. sold me a ski package for prolly $200 more than it was worth, and that was at the end of the season. granted, i knew absolutely nothing about skis and shit at the time, but still kinda pissed me off.

I was planning on going to them cause they're the next closest pro shop after Schuss. Damn, guess I'll be making a road trip out to Queensbury haha.

couldn't agree with you anymore, they totally fucked up my new skis last year, They were mounting them, and they drilled right through the bases. THE SKI COMPANY IS HORRIBLE and don't ever go there for tune ups of anything

Well for this coming season, the only equipment I need is a new pair of boots, so I just need a good boot fitter. And if Sports Page is the best, then I'll drive out there.

if you want to make the drive more worth the while i coulld give you some ideas of dope stuff to do in the area

what ever one of the best shops in ny and worth the trip, i could show ya around for fun shit to do

gonna have to disagree brother, the guys that have been working there forever, they know their shit.. they also expanded their freestyle outerwear, skis ect by a ton in the past couple years. they do a great job with everything they do. never had a problem.. 50 bucks for a mount.. oh well

That's fine. I bought my first pair of twin tips there 7-8 years ago, broke the skis 4 years ago but the bindings never came out. My step bro ripped out the exact same binding in the exact same ski the very first day on them and they didn't have his size so he had to BUY a different pair. If they were a great shop the binding shouldn't have ripped out, he shouldn't have had to buy another pair and like you said, they need to expand their freestyle gear.

i said their freestyle selection is growing and its pretty damn big, tons of ski brands and outerwear brands you wouldnt think of, they have.

this soooo much, i hate ski company! and snow (ski company's branch) sucks more. i asked for a pair of skis to be center mounted, and my dad picked them up (2 weeks later) not noticing, that they were mounted like fuckin race skis. and i went back to ask for a do over, and they said sorry we cant, you should have asked for center. apperently they dont write shit down there......

I just need some new boots, and my skis tuned. Is is worth the drive out to the Sports Page? Or does the ski company have enough variety with brands for boots? Cause I won't hesitate to drive a couple hours to get the right boot, better than being in pain all season.

id go to ski company and get fitted in the freestyle section.

i went to snow and told them i freestyle skiied and the dude tryed fitting me for a "high preformance" stiff boot. i think the ski company is better then snow

If you only knew what went on there...

If you MUST go to Ski Co. ask for Garrett. He is the only guy there I'd come close to trusting to fit me in a ski boot. Second best option is Pierce Brothers, and he's a snowboard guy... He knows his shit though.

Whatever you do, don't get fitted at the Ski Sale. The people who work there are the "new guys" and know absolutely nothing.

so where do you think i should go for a good boot fitting? i live inbetween syracuse and utica and i'd be willing to drive a couple hours. right now i'm pretty sure i'm gonna go to sports page.

I've never liked sports page. When I went there I thought them to be on the same level as ski co but apparently others like them. I've fitted my own boots since I was 15 though so I can't help you with that.

Go see garret at ski co. He's the man and he'll give you a good fit. If you don't find something there, sack up and make a weekend trip to Burlington to visit Skirack. I made the trip last year and I'm thrilled with the outcome. It's a haul, but that's why I say make a trip of it. Burlington is a cool little city and if you know someone who lives there you're golden. Skirack techs are money, best boot fitters I've found to this day...

Ill second the trip to ski rack in burlington.

Sports page would be second though in the past few years they have stepped up their game alot. Nice guys and on top of their shit for the most part. Just make sure you dont go there when the schools race programs are starting.

Yeah sports page or even a little further is the alpine shop near skidmore in saratoga
Alpine has great boot fitters but smaller merchandise but probably better prices

This. Very good shop. good boot fitting and they will mount you up for cheaper than pretty much every other place i have been to.
