hey,

i have a k2 obsethed (169) i weigh 120 pounds and am like 1 68 cm's tall. I want a ski that is pretty much the best pow ski that will wokr for me. I am an agressive skier and am comfortable skiing skis alot bigger then me. How are the k2 hellbent as aposed to say the armada ARG. Please help i just really want something that is so sick in the deep stuff but versitile enough to ski like the chopped up stuff in the afternoon.

So whats the best pow ski?

The Hellbent's are really wide (122mm waist) and double rockered so their amazing for powder, and their supposed to be 10% park riding designed. I demo'd them from a friend really briefly and they were sick in powder.

ARMADA JJ'S, they are so dope! They rip everything! Especially playful in the pow, but can hold their own anywhere on the mtn. My brother has the K2 hellbents. That would be my next choice, although they are not the best as they are super super soft. That is why i would ride the JJ's, i have mine and have loved them! I buy a new pair every year as they are so SICK! our shop has done well with them too

One of the many great perks of working in a ski shop! I buy a new one every year as i tell myself every year i need to quite and get a real job...but...hasn't happen yet!

Isn't shop price on them still like, $400? My gearwhorism would be having me get a different ski every year, but I guess it's preferance.

And OP, this thread is stupid. It has been asked before a lot, plus, you're 120lbs. I wouldn't want to be on ARGs at your weight because you won't sink into pow as much with a 135 waist.. Also, you're going to get a different answer from every post. Obsethed's float well btw..

All that being said, with your stats I'd recommend 176(or 188 if you want the ski to be long for you, and these ski super short and measure shorter than labeled so you can do it!) Rossi S7s.

Ya but there are thousands of people who know what they cost and/or can get that price, it's not exactly exclusive.

Hellbents are so much nice ride than the ARG. I personally found the ARG's took the fun out of it just a bit.

And as for the whole shop employee prices... generally speaking if you work in a shop you deal direct with the rep and pay less than trade price... But unless you work in a shop you need not know this price.

I didn't like the ARG's that much, they just werent as versatile as i would have liked. The JJ's were sweet though! I also liked the hell bents a lot too. Shop employee's deal directly with the rep that is correct, and i agree exactly! quoting "

Yer i work in a shop... and if you leak the prices the reps get in shit.plus rep price is never fixed all depends how much they like you.

Yeah, i thought it depended on how much your shop buys from them, determined the EP pricing. If that isn't the case, i need to start kissing some more ass to get a better deal ha ha

Try go skiing with them... Normally if they are local to your shop they are down for a couple runs... then they give you sick offers to get you on there gear
Or say to the rep of lets say k2 or something as an example.... you were thinking of getting armadas or something.... he will give you a sick ass deal to swing you onto their brand

Yeah, thats cool, i am actually skiing with the armada rep this week, to bad im already loyal to them huh, maybe get a better deal if i wasn't

you can play that to your part... be cheeky but not over the top.. twist his arm but don't brown nose him...
yano how it goes.

Movement flyswatter is an epic ski from what i heard !
probably the most rocker of all current skimodels...

the JJs are by far my favorite ski i've ver been on. i've tested the hellbents a lil, but they were my friends 169 version, where i should b on the 189 at 6'3". the hellbents r rediculously soft in comparison to my chopsticks (which i also love).

179 Bents are 11.2lbs/pair. LL2s are 9.2lbs/pair, and I forget what Caylors are, but it's less than 11.2.. I didn't like bents compared to every other pow ski I've been on.

And about ARGs, I found them really fun everywhere, but you have to be good at skiing everywhere (that you will find on a day with fresh snow in places)or you won't see them that way. It's fun going sideways down groomers and keeping almost all your speed and sliding around down mogul fields to get to the bottom is easy. But again, for the OP, you will like Rossi S7s...
