Best place to ski over the holidays in NA.

Hey guys, my dad and I are looking to plan a ski trip this winter (21st - 29th) and I've gotta act quickly because our original plan got dropped. Basically I'm trying to find the best place to shred some pow around this time of the year.

A little information about our skiing capabilities, I'm more of a charging guy and he's more of a laxed skier, but he can still catch up to me once in a while! The terrain that we're looking for is varied, we both love a little bit of everything (trees, bowls, etc.).

The price range is roughly $5000, where we stay isn't that much of a problem, but it would be preferred to be as easily accessible as possible (in the resort itself, shuttle, etc.).

Thanks in advance!

by now most places are probably all booked, so your best bet would be to stay near a resort and drive there from a hotel.

I'd say Salt Lake. Good variation of terrain and mountains. Fairly cheap to stay at in Salt Lake with plenty of hotels, plus stuff to do at night.

Also, they just got pounded with a storm

Snowbird, and check out powder mountain too. It's about and hour away, but the terrain is limitless!

Since its so short notice I say look at the weather and book something where its looking deep. Tahoe is projected to get 2 to 5 feet starting thursday night. Seattle area has been amazing this year so that is another good bet. Stevens Pass and Alpental are good bets. Wish I had that budget. Have fun!!

Tahoe. Stay in South Lake and ski Kirkwood. Mountain has been 100% open for weeks just got 2 feet within the last day with 4-6 forcasted this weekend.

Growing up me and my dad used to go to Utah whenever Tahoe didn't have great snow (we like to gamble) this is probably the one year Tahoe is better. Utah is usually the safest bet for Christmas break though.

4+ feet in the past week up at mustang. 110+ base at the lodge. Snowing hard now, will snow everyday for the next week. 6x as much terrain to ski as Alta/bird combined. with only a handful of other skiers to share it with.

Or you could go to a destination resort and have fun skiing with holiday crowds.
