i got the ar6, its really easy to press in the tips, the tails is definatly stiff, its decently light if you mount up with a light binding. its just a great park ski that can be taken anywhere and do anything except for powder.
i would say the top 5 skis that sound the sickest to me (havent rode)
I have.
They are both SUPER fun skis. Both are Bombproof. The AR6s are a bit softer and are more of a jump ski (it still kills the rails though), while the Walls are stiffer and symmetrical (giving it lower swing weight and super easy switch riding) and are more of rail ski (also still good on jumps too).
It's a tough choice between the two, but the easiest way to decide is if you do more jumps than rails get AR6s, if you do more rails than jumps get Walls. But, you really can't go wrong either way.
the thing that i like more at the ar6 is that it's lighter.. But if u say that the wall has a lower swing weight that means that it spinns easier than the ar6? I don't do any rails, i would prefer the ski that is easier to make 360s ,640s, grabs, rodeos and staff..
which ski carves better? that is really important for me as well..
The reason the Wall has a lower swing weight is because it's symmetrical, swing weight really only makes a difference on and off rails - cause you have less room to spin as opposed to a bigger jump.
The AR6s will do all the spins and flips really well and it carves REALLY well (some of the best edge control I've ever had on a park ski and I ski on the ice coast).
If you like the AR6 and aren't going to be doing many rails (if any) you may want to get the Pipe Cleaner - iit's got the same specs as the AR6, but it's lighter, a bit stiffer (not much), and has a race base (it goes super fast - but if not as durable as the AR6 base which is why people who do a lot of rails don't really get 'em).
And someone asked about Pipe Cleaners.. Great ski, but fairly soft(by my standards, but I'm used to stiffer skis) if it matters to you. Still somehow really stable, though, it sort of carves like a stiffer race ski, but can nose butter easily.
not blue steeles, but i have heared nothing bad about them (that rarely happens so i guess that they are not that bad) and i was about to buy them, but i decided to save ma money for some pow sticks.
the rest i have skied/own/ed. oh and i have only skid the alpha 2, but with the faster base that ski must be even sicker. its so playful, and carves sooo well. butters are awesome with the rocker too.
pipe cleaner has way stiffer tails (pipe ski) then the walls, but when i rode them the noses were pretty similar to the overall flex of the walls. (mind you they were skied in quite a bit). I currently own the walls as my only ski and they SHRED. they are absolutely BOMBproof and they are crazy poppy, light stable, and i feel that they carve nicely. definitely recommend them. any other questions feel free to pm me. I think i might actually write a review on them soon here, if i do i will post a link in here.
Please keep in mind that everyones top 5 picks are going to be different. Not everyone has skied every park ski out there and skis are all personal preference based on how good a skier you are, the type of terrain you ski, and the qualities that you like in a ski. Sure, skis that are mentioned most often in top 5 lists are more likely to be a decent ski, but it could also just be that more people have purchased that ski than any others. Basically, just keep in mind that not every ski is good for every person.
I really recommend the Line Anthem, it is so balanced. Compared to a strictly jib ski, like the Afterbang, or a fairly strictly jump ski, like the Chronic, It is the best of both worlds, is super playful, and you can do anything on them.
the best skis ive ever skied would have to be the (08-09) JO Pros. the held up good on rails and were super light and poppy. i loved them on anything and even skied some trees and pow in montana and they did better than i thought they would. overall great ski.
But, I hate Anthems, at everything, deeply. Alphas do eveything the Anthem was supposed to do better, yet is also fun on jumps and actually spins light. That's what I would recommend to people looking at Anthems.
Pipe Cleaners are my favorite normal camber/sidecut park ski ever, so smooth. I have Alphas now and if I didn't need money I would keep my Pipe Cleaners a long time!
