skiing sucks

By the way, that freeskier article is over exagerating a little bit, we dont have a super pipe....or an S-rail

skiing sucks

I am going to have to say that the best hit I have ever hit in the midwest is at snowtrails. I have been to resorts in michigan, indiana, pa and ny. I have also seen footage of hits from other resorts. Snowtrails first hit is the best hit in the midwest, no questions. On the other hand, their rails are not the best in the midwest. They are ok. Rails no, Jumps, by far.

haha ill post some pics when im not lazy ohio huck. You guys got two 65 footers? a 50 footer, a 30, a 35, a 25, a quad kink, two downkinks, halfpipe, two more 30footers, about 6 or 7 other rails? Also, the rainbows getting fixed and a new c-rail is being built tonight. I cant even think of all the shit we have..... Ill try to get pics today, but ill prolly just ride

skiing sucks

Alpine valley most def takes the cake for best park in the mid-west...man those riders are frieken sick there. Their park is just insane.

Thats just my opinion

skiing sucks

Man, if you guys haven't seen perfect north slopes letely u should. like 7 rails. the burliest tripple kkink ever. and the jumps are decent, and a 1.4 pipe. so heres the rails. 30 foot flat bar, 14 foot flat bar, Hunongo Tripple kink, 48 foot S rail, Wallride with kicker to the top so it can be a soccer gaol rail too, and the C box will be out soon. Sick rails.... sick jump.

come to the midwest extremes......and the spring jam were having here......PROMISE a HUGE park, but i cant say anything

skiing sucks

my patio outside my apartment has more features than alpine. 1. Urban Drop in Ramp 2. Shotgun 3. Tango Rail 4. Single Bar. Yep i Think that just beat it

i just checked out perfect north's website about their park.....it sucks! 20-25 foot table??!?!?!?

skiing sucks

we just built a rollercoaster rail for marquette's park. its like a gradual rainbow then back up. first person to slide it gets a marquette mountain fleece headband.

best half pipe!?!??!?! when we were there.....it was horrible.....

and damn that headband is mine

skiing sucks

i have been a few places in the midwesst and i have to say PNS has the best park..........if nothing else the rails have to be the best around.

You know, midwest_jibber, that's the 2nd time you told someone that PNS's park sucks.

I really don't think what you say will effect other people's opinions. If they like it the best there's nothing that's going to change their opinion unless the ski somewhere better.

i'll vouch for marquette's park, not only is it a great park, hailed as a contender for top 10 parks in north america by freeskier magizine, plus its groomed almost daily, how many other parks in the midwest can say that?

i like to play poggs

if its unnatural its dirty

Marquette's park is nice but I like a groomer called Rocket at Marquette, its by far the best groomer in Michigan at least......I can't speak for Wisconsin but only for Michigan........but I say Rocket is the best groomed run in Michigan...............................I mean the groomed terrain at marquette mountain is the tops....really how can you deny it? I skied rocket (a grommed run at Marquette Mountian) and it blew my socks off. I mean come on, its steep and deep and totally radical. needless to say I'm on shrooms right now......but take it from me, Rocket 'the groomed run at Marquette Mountain' is the tippy top of the barrel as far as groomed runs go.

midwest_skier have you ever been there? I mean that is pretty harsh to say that PNS sucks, even if you have been there. Granted it isn't a huge park but given the space we work with i would have to say its pretty nice. I don't know what the best park in the midwest is because i haven't been to them all yet, and odds are you haven't either. I have been to all of the local parks and even some up north and i know that i am going to be slightly biased but from a park maintenance person looking at the other parks perfects blows them all out of the water. I'm not being mean and i'm not saying that there are no better, but considering all the elements Perfects is pretty damn good.

Oh and Perfects Park is Groomed Every Single Day. No Exceptions, just about no matter what. And nearly every feature is maintained to its optimal level given the conditions. Try our park before you bash it.

FP, i went to your webiste and looked at the features you guys have up, and you just simply dont have enough to compare it seems. How many rails do you have? Marquette has 8 now, and 10 by the end of the yr, including an S, quad kink, roller-coaster, down kinks, and various flats. Not to mention i saw that you have 2 tables? (correct me if im wrong) In our Big Park, down Chute, we have three, all with 1-2 story high landings, all with multiple take offs. They vary in length from 30 to 65 feet. We also have a half-pipe which isn't the best, but is groomed about once a week. And a smaller park with more smaller tables and rails. And rocket is BY FAR the best groomer in Michigan, way to go BEN!!!!!! FP, come up to Marquette for the Midwest Extremes, or better yet, our end of the yr comp, its going to be crazy...

skiing sucks

We have 9 rails currently and 11 by season's end. Simply because our park can't be as large as your park doesn't make it a bad park. Our hits are 20-30 feet from take off to knuckle and you can take them another 20 at least. We have a 48 foot S-rail, a wall ride, a 34 foot triple kink, and some flat bars a down kink a banked C box and a few boxes. I'm not saying that our park is way better than the one at Marquette, because i've never been there, however i am saying that our park is well maintained, up to date, and challenging. And part of my point is that you don't have to be a dick about something as trivial as 'how killer your park is' without haveing skied our park. The fact of the matter is i'm not going to drive 14 hours to ride your park on the weekends, so the park that is 5 minutes from my house that is better than any park within 8 hours will do just fine. Besides, park reports can only tell you general information, in order to know what a park is like you have to ride it, and obviously you haven't riden ours. And besides that we get no respect from you northern folk because you all seem to think your so much better than anyone below the Indiana/Michigan line, when in fact i would venture to guess that some of our riders would hold there own in any of your contests. But i'm guessing you won't travel to ours would you? I mean its 14 hours either way not just down....

I guess just ride it before you bash it... and we have about 2 weeks left in our season and the only reason we close is because we have no one skiing not due to lack of snow, we have plenty.

my park is better than your park waa waa waa

PNS and Marquette Suck, parks in the midwest suck period. Perfect's park is comparable to Mt Brighton, or Alpine Valley(in Michigan)or Mt Holly. News Flash NOTHING in Indiana is better or worse than anything in Ohio or Michigan(Lower Michigan) they are all about the same.

***Hire a teenager while they still know everything.***

right now i am home in SW michigan, Kalamazoo area. And I was thinking about making the drive down to your area if soemthing was going down, but it was still a 6 hour drive, and I would be riding there on a weekday. The closed comment was b/c we just had a fucking thunderstorm here in Kalamazoo and Bittersweet and Timber Ridge were both closed. Thats a great picture of your park, it matches the thing i saw on the internet, and you guys dont have a big table, thats it....ive seen a pic of that wallride, its pretty weak.... whatever, im done, ill just post pics when im back im at NMU and you'll see....

skiing sucks

Also, I wasnt talking shit about my skiing, and i was comparing Marquette Mtn's terrain park to Perfect North

skiing sucks

What's up guys,

My name is Steve Shelby and i groom park at marquette mountain, and i also ski and train there every day. I like the picture of your park it's a good over view. I looks like you guys do a really good job with the area that you have to work with.

This season we expanded our parks 200%, Adding two runs right down the front of the hill, the vertical drop of the park is roughly 550 feet and the accumulated hang time is up around 5-8 seconds in one run.

Once all of your hills close you should pack your whole crew in your bus and drive to marquette for a long weekend. I gaurantee you could get your best footage of the season in one weekend(weather permiting), and after our hill closes we ride for a month or two with snowmobile tow-ups.

you should contact me if you are interested in coming up to ride.

peace,

shelby
