BEST PARK BINDING

Well, I've torn 3 acl's in my knees now and it's starting to get annoying... I've tried a lot of different bindings minus salomon. I'm not a big fan of Salomon, they just seem crappy and I've had buddies blow out knees on them also. I've broken line bindings, and rossis. I thought i found the perfect binding with the FKS 120 set at 8 (I'm 5-9, 155#s) but blew my knee out in Dec. riding those.

For my next bindings I'm thinking about the Head mojo 15s and maybe even the 4frnt Deadbolts. Like I said, I ride my bindings at 8, which is lame bc i still get hurt. These are for strictly park, skiing things like breck and keystones big jump lines. Who's got any answers?

my mojo 15s seem really solid they never pop out when they're not supposed to and they have arotating heal piece.

If your looking for the best park binding, i would go with the jester. I love mine and they are great with switch landings. A little pricey at about $330 but they are worth every penny. These bindings are absolutly sick. Another great park binding is the salomon sth 12 or 16. They are very light underfoot and keep you close and flat to the ski. Overall, i would choose the jesters if you are looking for a park binding.

Good to hear about Mojo 15s given props here on NS. I have 'em on two pair of skis. Chose them because of the safety features. The toe piece has 180 degree release and as was said above, the heal piece rotates. I like.

You're not blowing out your knees because of bindings, but because your din is too high. I rock 8 in the front and i weigh 50lbs more than you. You probably should just lower your din.

you need nothing higher then a twelve din binding. Get the STH 12 or the look px 12 ti. For 12 din bindings they are for sure the best on the market. and set your dins lower. Your going to be in a wheelchair by the time your 30. You gotta take better care of your body.

just a thought. the binding isnt the only reason your tearing you ACL. the way you land and twist/tweak your knee plays a huge factor.

since your tired of blowing out your knees get look p12 pivots, super sick bindings, i have them on my skis, the release always at the right time, oh yeah and your right about salomon and blowing knees out, my solly bindings didnt release properly once and because of that i have torn ligaments in my knee. so yeah p12 pivots for sure

Riding with my din at 8 seems too low compared to most people for my weight and ability. Alot of my buddies same wieght and ability ride 10 and higher.

Again I'm a very expert skier, riding Keystone and Brecks big jumplines.

Weight is about 155#s, hieght 5'9". I really don't think DIN is too high, I was at 7 untill my ski was popping off on 270s onto rails, then went up a notch.

So far the mojo 15s sound pretty good. Jesters look pretty sick too, but im weary of the non-vertical toe release. 4frnts still look good, i have a few buddies on those without any problems... Thanks for all the input.

yeah but coupled with that, his DIN is probably too high so he isn't ejecting out of the binding, his knee ejects from his leg instead. A lower DIN should solve his problems

i've got a pair of look px12 bindings that are great for the park. incredibly durable seeing as a do a lot of falling. 3rd year on them

Hahahaha, I honestly laughed.

But yeah if 8 breaks your leg and 7 your pre releasing... Try 7.25 or 7.5 or 7.75. If none of those work for you, THEN start looking for bindings.

boot lenght???

just as important as wirghtand size dude...

you checked foward release???

7 sould keep you in the binding on a 270 unless you land right on the edge and at an angle.

What I've learned is that there are some people who will say a binding is the best ant there is no other, and then other people will say that binding is the worst piece of shit ever. It's just personal experience and shit. Ejecting takes sooo many factors into consideration and shit.

I like my PX12's

I like my Mojo 15's

I like my Jesters (haven't used them in the park)

the deadbolts are sick for park, i'm 5'11" and 135lbs and i have din set at nine and it's just right.

my Look PX12 lifters on my BC skis are at 8 and i never come out of them, however dif kind of skiing ya know. but the deadbolts are uber sexy

My boot sole length is a 265? I dont know for sure, I ride Dalbello Kryptons in a 26.5. If anyone knows that length off hand, I don't have my boots with me here.

And yes, God granted me weak girly knees, but part of it I think is my binding choice. But the good thing is, both my knees are almost fully replaced now haha, so they shouldnt be girly anymore.

The jester does look pretty sick, but I'm pretty sure there's no upward release in the toe, which is kind of what I liked about Rossi's, even though my FKS shouldve upward released when I fell last.

p.s. My forward pressure was def. set correctly on my FKS last time I fell. The indicator is right on that white line on the heel peice.

Thats interesting..BSL on the Rampages would be 305+- 1 or 2 mm, so given that, your ability, your height/weight - then according to a rossi chart, you should be set at 8..

And thats as a type 3 skier, so if you are still coming out then i don't know what the issue is..

But you shouldn't be prereleasing at that setting if the bindings are set up correctly, fwd pressure etc..

that's pretty interesting to hear... looks like if i keep the FKS's ill tone them down to 7.5 or something.... im just sick of screwing with bindings, i have the worst luck.

Get your shop to have a look at the bindings, spring etc - just do an overall test on them..?

You shouldn't really be prereleasing out of them at 7 but not releasing at all at 8 - try 7.5..It might, but i don't think it will make a HUGE difference
