here is a crappy picture i took with my cell phone. nothing is happening in this picture. what amazed me was how freaking huge the jump is in person.

i guess in reference from old ski movies you could figure it out through speed checks and a radar gun....they used a radar gun when tanner and jon hit it..i can't remember if it was like 45 or 54mph something like that ...i figure if they got the same speed lined up it could be kinda similar but then again the gap size could be different and same goes with the size of the kicker....so maybe that would help a little

theres a reason why snowboarders hate skiers. and its because of kids like you. can't we all just get along.

Does anybody know what tricks were throw, i know tim tried a couple of double 12's, or are they keeping it a secret until the movie comes out?

supposedly before i got there tim threw a dub 10 or dub 12 or something, (sry, i dont know shit about doubles) while i was there i saw him crash pretty bad but no major injuries. (maybe a concussion)

To my knowledge (I was there claim, but not paying too much attention) Tim did two dub 10s. On the first one he went reallllll deep and didn't stomp. The second was a real good, true dub 10, but he hit the side of the wall and concussed himself and that was the day.

This is what I get for not checking newschoolers.....
I was at Alta and Snowbird the entire week this shit was going down.

What the fuck.......I missed out on skiing history.

that must be the first time anyone has ever wished they spent more time on a computer during a week at alta haha. bummer though

basically yeah.
i didn't get on newschoolers for a week....and I get home to read this...
You think I would have noticed this going down, but from some of the shots this looks like it is maybe across from Alta toward flagstaff or somewhere.....basically if you are looking at a map and you see catherines area.....just keep going around the canyon and you would find chad's gap.
then someone said in this thread it was in the grizzly gulch....

i thought i was cool finding the snowbird smoke shack and going in the bobsled at the olympic park.

^ haha but you can see it from the bottom of alps. Last year i got to see durtchski hit piramids from there although i could see who it was or what he was doing until i saw edias
