Best NY mountain?

Hey all,

I'm sure this has been covered before, so SIAP, but can anyone give any recommendations for ski spots in the NY area? I'm in NYC and looking to make a trip this weekend. Any recommendations are definitely appreciated.
 
If you are looking to stay as close as possible to NYC then Hunter. Maybe Windham.

Otherwise just make the 4 hour trip to southern VT. Mt Snow, Stratton etc. 5 hours if you want to go to Killington.
 
Thanks for the responses. All of those sound solid. This weekend I'll probably stay a little closer, so I was looking at Windham. But I didn't realize how close it was to Mt. Snow from here.. so that will have to be on the list soon.

Is Windham a shit show on the weekends?
 
It can be but no more than Mt Snow i would say. Its just a lot smaller. Hunter is by far the worst as far as crowds.
 
it depends what u wnt to ski if u want to ski park go to creek if u want a mtn thats a little more challenging go to hunter the best place i've skied this season is stowe it was worth the drive
