Best night skiing

Night skiing is my favorite so I’m trying to figure out where the best place to live for this would be. Looking in the west, gets good snow, and has great parks. A bigger town would be nice too

Don’t go west for night skiing- go MID-west.

trollhaugen, wild mountain, elm creek, spirit mountain and hyland are my favorite places to night ski there. The vibes are always great and I often miss the rope park scene.

I like powder though especially at night

Vancouver BC. 3 mountains within half an hour of downtown (2 of which have fun parks) with night skiing till 10pm every day. Seymour, Grouse, Cypress.

The city has 2.5 million people so there’s a good amount going on. The local hills aren’t very big but the city is 2 hours from Whistler or Baker and I only really ride the locals after work or for mellow tours on the weekend when I have other plans in the day.

The couple night pow days I get a season are always epic.

Snoqualmie Pass aka Summit at Snoqualmie has a ton of night skiing at their Central, West, and Alpental areas (maybe more since I left several years ago). It's small but fun, and the park at Central is pretty good and basically the entire rest of the mountain is open until 10pm. Alpental is awesome during the day and fun at night but there's not as much terrain lit up there.

Grew up skiing Friday nights in the midwest. Still night skiing often at the same hill. It's a different vibe, and I mean that in the best way possible.

Stevens pass and snoqualmie pass are close to Seattle.

My sisters got a cabin in Leavenworth that I bet she would let me stay at for cheap, it’s just all those areas are still at least 40 minutes away

I don't but I've got homies who do. It's on the list. I'm usually mainly looking for side hits and park laps, and clear lenses are good enough to make it down unlit runs when the snow is real nice. But it's definitely a bit of braille in the dark trees and a headlamp would make those a lot more fun. Friends do mellow headlamp tours above the city too and that is something I want to get into.

This is gonna sound dumb as hell but Holiday Valley in NY. South of Buffalo NY. Only 30-45minutes from the city. Top to bottom rail park with some jumps or hips from December to October, service by a express parks open from 8:30-10 7 days a week. We get about 200inches of snow annually and when it snows it dumps. Talking 2 ft of blower about 2-3 times a month from December to March on a good year. And even closer to the city is kissing bridge. Less expensive, really good rails, night skiing and the same amount of snow. Just not as reliable snowmaking and lifts. Either way you get great wings, bills fans, and Tim hortons

True. But it can be done. Got a couple friends doing it on a retail wage and they can still afford nice gear and beers at the ~60 dope breweries in the city.

I really wish more places in co had night skiing, I never really understood the hype until this year. We went up skiing on a casual day at Keystone and got up pretty late, around 4 everyone was mega tired and we were just gonna call it a day but we decided wed do some night laps for the fun. As soon as it started getting dark the energy returned, wed been skiing for 7 hours already and felt amazing, even though there was no park or anything just lapping one run with the boys was honestly one of the best days of my life. so keystone may not have anything open during the night but it dosent matter, night skiing is night skiing and its always rad

Skied night pow at Oppdal in Norway. There was some good stuff to the side but didn't have my headlamp for the stuff deeper in the trees.

Skied night park at holiday valley in like 2015 and it was pretty sick. Had to ski The Wall which wasn't lit to get back to our airbnb. Used the flash on our phones but it was sketchy as fuck since it was a dark night and it was a bit icy.

Buck hill, hyland, afton and troll all have amazing parks for night skiing. The overall vibe is super nice there.

some of the deepest snow i've skied in utah in the last 10 years was at night at brighton. throw on a head lamp and you're golden.

I want to try visiting some place that has night skiing until like 3am and try to do a 12hr ski session.

My old local hill was open till like 1:30am on Fri-Sat. It was dope getting turns in with my then girlfriend in the morning and then rail laps in the tow rope park with the boys all night. It was 15 minutes from my house so easy to leave and come back whenever too.
