Best movies that provoke the mind.

ahahahahahahahahaha typical nsg responses.

hmmm....inceptio..ahh fuck it back door sluts 9

I was scared I would see like
"omg requiem for a dream" or something
but 2001... I can respect the shit out of that.

2001 is quite an epic movie with no real clear " end ". It really does cause someone to contemplate a few things deeply but not in a "middle schooler way" like the movie donnie darko.

i liked the first two, but "uhh fuck i'll think of more later" really blew my mind. i spent hours contemplating life after it.

That's what I was going to say. Not much of a movie, just more of an awesome continuous conversation with your mind.

I watch it all the time.

I dont mean to be offensive to anyone, but a few of you should expand your mind a little more and look into a few "deeper" movies. Some of the movies listed here and just summer box office movies.

2001 space odyssey

Pi

Moon

Clockwork Orange

Oldboy

On the other hand, any movie that forces you think on a deep level once you have stepped away from the theater may fit into this thread.

It doesn't exactly provoke your mind...neither does fight club...or untraceable.

But, I definitely agree with Moon and Clockwork Orange, also the fountain is really weird, tried to watch it high, couldn't do it. It's good though.

such a good movie.

should I watch Clockwork Orange tonight? Or rather, what movie should I watch that has been suggested in this thread?

jacob's ladder - story of a vietnam vet who experienced ... and is now ... because ... which is really ... but the aliens, gv, ..., science, ..., society
its good

isn't audio and visual what a movie is?...i mean i don't know about you, but when i watch a movie i tend not to smell, taste or touch it. but thats just me

TASTE! THATS IT! i was trying to figure out the five senses the other day and there was one i couldnt think of! thanks!

Have you heard of this thing called a book? It puts film to shame in this aspect. I don't know why people pay so much attention to plot in films...

Also, Inception was not a deep movie unless you are 15 years old and just learned how to smoke weed.

haha chill mo' fuzzy. I was responding to your comment about how you focus on plot and character development in films. I was just saying that films are inherently worse because they leave less to the imagination in terms of sensory detail, so I see little point in being put off by minute plot holes.

Also, I don't read just because I find the text-format utterly boring. Not that I'm proud of it, but I need light and sound in order to be truly captivated.
