Best movie of 2010?

This was actually one of my favorite movies of the year. def the best comedy of the year in my opinionThe Fighter was also an amazing movie. got goosepumps in the last fight and Christian Bale was so goodInception was also amazingThose were probably my favorites of the year

Serious:The Social Network- this would be my pic of overall best, well written and Jesse Eisenberg did a very good job.True GritWall Street: Money Never Sleeps (see the first film though first)(I also wanted to The Fighter)
Comedy:Get Him to the GreekHot Tub Time MachineThe Other GuysJackass 3D
Action/Adventure:Harry PotterThe Expendables (Mindless-yes, Awesome- Yes)The A-TeamAnimated:Toy Story 3Despicable MeHow to Train Your Dragon
Thats pretty much my list of movies I would recommend for others to see from 2010

you have little to no knowledge of what a good movie consists of do you?

I would say True Grit because it is still fresh in my mind.

inception was a mindbender and had the coolest ski chase since bond. scott pilgrim was funny and great (comic is pretty good)

wolfman was so good and i liked how they stuck true to wolfman

kickass i forgot about but was great

i want to see black swan it sounds really good

true grit was great, but i thought the ending was a tad bit weak...

inception was great, the other guys was funny and jackass 3d was fucked up

Over All, I hand the top spot to Inception. it had a unique story, original plot idea and a cast that really rose to the occasion.

Best Story, Inception, I really liked the way that inception left the viewer guessing about the fate of cob, however the lack of some form of closure for the other characters did, some what, disappointed me.

Best Musical Score, Tron: Legacy, I can listen the the music from this over and over and still not wish for a change. Daft Punk really stepped up for this and the result is amazing.

Best CGI/Effects, Tron: Legacy, While many probably see Avatar as the pinnacle of visual effects I am inclined to give my vote to Tron. The shift from the real world sets to the world of green screen and CGI was done magnificently. In addition to this, watching CLU and Sam's Father side by side it is hard to imagine that both roles are played by the same actor; the realism in CLU's face is a real master piece.

Best Comedy, Get Him to the Greek, I laughed from start to finish, Russel Brand pulls of his role perfectly. Co-Starring with Jonnah Hill, who gives a great performance, the duo create the perfect combination for a night of laughing with friends.

Top 10 over all

Inception, Tron: legacy, Get Him to the Greek, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt.1, Toy Story 3, Avatar 3D (purely for the visuals), The Town, Iron Man 2, How to Train Your Dragon, Easy A. (none of that is in any real order apart from the top 3)

I know i missed a lot of stuff, but i wanted to give a good "review thing" without making my text wall too long.

The road was so lacking, every horrific scene, save 2 or 3, was eluded to through character POV. To me it was very frustrating. It's still one of the best in it's genre but it's not the be all end all post apocalyptic film striving for realism, someone will make another that doesn't hold back (but will probably suck in other ways).

for best movie, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, the creative direction and pace is phenomenal

inception was entertaing, true grit was just really good, and i thought the other guys was funny...theres probs some other good ones im forgetting

meh you have a point, still i cant think of a apocalyptic movie that tops it. and the feel and mood of the film is still something i havent really experienced before. the acting was straight up amazing though.

whats retarded is that it didnt get nominated for any awards. shit its 10x better than avatar was.

2009 was a pretty bad year for cinema. Black Swan was pretty good. Inception was epic, but terribly unoriginal (See Cronenberg's "eXistenZ").

Did anyone else think True Grit was disappointing?
