Best mountains

Im going on a ski trip next year and I was wondering which mountain(s) I should go to. What are your favorite mountains that you would recommend to me and others?

Get a place in Salt Lake City, bounce around from PC/Alta/Snowbird/Brighton.

I highly suggest checking out powder mountain too. Absolutely unreal place.

We need to know more. Budget? From where? What do you like to ski? Steep chutes? Cliffs? Open bowls? Park? I would not advise doing a trip just based on park, as you can find that anywhere, if you are going out west go for terrain and snow.

I did my ski bum years at Squaw, so I will throw that out there. I ski most weekends at Mammoth, which I also highly recommend, although it is difficult to get to for anyone other than people from socal, that airport is sketchy. I would also give a nod to Salt Lake, focusing in Snowbird/Alta and maybe hitting Solitude or Brighton too.

It also depends when you are going and for how long. Give us more details so we can give you more info.

You really can't tell. I had one great year then several average to slightly above average years. Squaw is pretty awesome in an average year, so I had nothing to complain about. Since 10/11 things have been very volatile. I hope things settle down, the start of the 11/12 season was horrible. After a good start, 12/13 sucked from January on. 13/14 and 14/15 were absolutely awful. 15/16 was about average for Mammoth, I think Tahoe was above average. I love seasons like this one, but right now I'm really hoping for average for the next few years. Anything better is gravy. Tahoe has gone through some long droughts historically, there was one in the 80's.

For the OP: How much time in advance do you have to plan this trip?

Do you want to party? I wouldn't. That should not be a big deal. You can party at home, a ski trip should be about skiing.

Revelstoke Short?? Flat?? I don't think so... In fact it has the most vertical in North America with some of the best steep skiing out there. You don't know your shit
