I am thinking about making a trip somewhere in late April iv been told that Sunshine and Whistler would be best, but I don't know about the mountains in the states.
Abasin! they get like 100" every april.
what did that video have to do with Vail in april? unless you have a delorean, none of that video was taken in april.
Mammoth for sure. I was there last June and thought it was epic. Main was still up and spring park was going, too. Mammoth is always open the latest in the states (obviously excluding Hood).
Its OKAY in april, theres still a tiny park usually towards the end and at the beggining its actually pretty banger. Dumon Cup is at the end of March and the Loaf is your best bet for good Maine spring skiing.
Im'm in Abasin all spring and its always an awesome time. I'm sure there park is nothing like Mammoths during the spring but its not bad. I would hit up Vail or Breck during the week and they go to Abay on the weekend.
Snowbird is a ton of fun, but its Stevens and Alpental for me. Nothin like building some booters in the sidecountry and grillin up some dogs next to the kicker.
Sunshine! While its +10 at every other mountain, it can be -5 at Sunshine. They got I think 2 feet? At the beginning of May last year, it was some of the best snow I've skied. The parks usually good to, although I havent been up at their new one yet
The storms still roll come in during April, so it isn't unlikely to get some excellent powder up high (in addition the terrain is second to none), and the park is super dialed in.
they both close in mid april actually, but have great conditions until closing day. The Basin is dope in late april cause you can ski cliff laps and park laps, and the parking lot party scene starts heatin up.
Haha you talk to me like I just moved to Colorado? Haven't you heard the word? They're both open until the end of April this year. ABay and Loveland are expected to be open in to June...
i was just pointing out that those two resorts have always closed in mid april, usually the second weekend. it does say on their website that breck will be open till the 24th. BTW, Loveland closes May 2nd this year, haven't you heard the word? prick http://www.skiloveland.com/themountain/LateSeasonInfo.aspx
Woah easy killer! Wasn't trying to be mean or anything... just stoked that everything is going to be open so late! (Haven't you heard the word? was a Family Guy reference.) I'm friends with Loveland's marketing director and they were thinking of staying open later... guess that final word hasn't been put out yet. MY BAD!
I immediately thought whistler and sunshine when i saw the thread. If you dont care about ignorant douche bag staff and crowded flat terrain go to sunshine. If you like skiing and having fun, go to whistler.
