Best mounatin east coast?

looking to shred some place on the east coast but i heard a lot of places have either no snow or shitty snow. Anyplace worth going to currently?
 
gotta be more specific. east is a big place.

that being said stowe and sugarbush should be getting a small storm thursday night into friday. sugarbush just opened their big park and stowe should have their park done by saturday. its been a slow start here in vt but after this weekend winter should be back. mount snow has a good setup right now as well, but not much snow from what I heard.

best thing to do is to check regionals. there's a thread for nearly every mountain in there.
 
mty snow has great parks, at least when i was there last week. i also heard K-town and whiteface are doing pretty good, but i dont know for sure about those two.
 
depends on what your looking for ,

jay peak = powder

stowe , sugarbush , kilington , mt,snow = parks

tremblant = best all around mountain, park , village , nighlife etc.

(subjective opinion)
 
Gore mountain is not fully setup, but they are getting a lot of snow this weekend, and the park should get better by saturday. If you are looking for a pipe though, I would go to gore
 
I'm in Vermont right now. Hit up Sugarbush (Mount Ellen) yesterday. There was pretty good coverage on the open trails. I went to Bolton Valley today and it was a great day. Thin coverage but they are expecting about 6 inches over the next few days so the coverage will be much better.

This "storm" coming up should solidify the base of a lot of northern mountains and give the southern ones something to start with.
 
i wish stratton was good enough to recomend :( its sad how much its declined in comparison to the other mountains. they are all making improvements and our owners are two stingy to do anything...
 
Come to seven springs we have everything you could want in a resort: ice, rocks, rain, and hoards of people not to mention the disturbing amounts of japanese tourists

Sorry but this is shitty advice. If you want a good mountain go to Vermont, maybe some places in maine. Mont Tremblant in Quebec is good too.

I go to gore only because its close to me.
 
no snow + Gore= Shittyhead a little farther north to whiteface and find a bigger and better park set up and more snow

I hear a couple places in vt are pretty good 2
 
list of good mtns now. sunday river loon mtn mt snow waterville stowe sugarbush nashoba valley(my home mtn in MA :)) tremblant(any where in QC) killington and did i miss any. park is all there is now so forget glades.
 
only when they get enough snow to open at least north park and they make the jib sections in the alley not shitty

that being said, i'll be up there tomorrow after school until closing
 
seems like u just listed the mountains within 2 hrs of u in vt or nh or MEthen just u put up a whole providence because u probably havent really been there, only heard things

Personally i think its sugarloaf and Jay Peak
 
its province and yes i have been to quebec. i have not been to tremblant but have been to mont orford and sutton. botth two great resorts. my best friend has been to tremblant and the reason i put only new england resorts is because I dont ski NY or NJ or PA and because new england is generally bette I posted resorts there and in Canada. I mentioned in my post that there is no pow anywhere right now(except it snowed a few inches today) That is why i did not put up Jay Peak. I put up Sugarloaf on my post which you failed to notice. Dont call me out unless you read my post thoroughly and dont make random judgements.
 
To give them some credit seven springs does have good parks but only if they have enough snow which they currently do not. They dont even have enough for the urban park yet and its a pretty small area so if your going soon i would still say dont come to seven springs

 
I'd say vermont is the best state to ski on the east coast. The southern vt mountains have great parks but are pretty flat for the most part (mount snow, okemo, etc...). As you go farther north, you find more of a balence between gnarly terrain (as far as the east goes) and park. You can't really go wrong with stowe, sugarbush, jay peak, or any of the mountains in that area for that matter
 
if you're in PA hit up big boulder. Their parks are super sick right now, and they are building a boxzilla for tomorrow. compelling stuff
 
dont go to sunday river. i was there last weekend and they had no snow. killington has like 80 trails open right now and just got 7 inches of fresh with more on the way. i also hear that loon is great right now
 
when i want to ski park = MOUNT SNOW all day. they have the best and biggest parks in the east hands down no question.

for terrain/steeps = Stowe, SugarBush.

I was just in VT for a week and when I left today they had 6+ inches and another 6+ on the way.

they are getting pounded/ piledriven/ raped.
 
Okemo may not be the best, but they just got an airbag, so that brings there score up slightly. Hoping to try it tommorowFor park Mt. Snow
