Best Military in the world?

is this some sort of joke? USA by farrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. theres not even any competition. only sas even compares with us special forces, but the seals would beat them. its all about training and techology and tactics, and guess what, the USA is the best in all 3
 
Israeli army ftw, we send over special ops people to train with them because their training is so rigorous not to mention they have more advanced shit than the US
 
Pretty good assessment, the Swiss Military is huge for the size of their country. But people keep saying Israel but they fight pretty dirty which is the real reason they do well.

The harrier beating a f22? please, first off the Harrier is the product of 70s technology that has been margainally upgraded throughout the years with more advanced avionics. Your comment about the radar though exposed how little you really know about what you are talking about. The f22 and the joint strike fighter are both stealth.

Secondly, the harrier isnt even used for air superiority, its more suited to close air support, i'm sure an f-4 phantom could take on a harrier and win...

on the basis of best military- The US still has the most powerful and versatile fighting force on earth. Its not because we have the best individual soldiers, but rather our command and control, supplies and general infastructure are so advanced and precise that it makes the whole the best.

On an individual scale I would say the Israeli's have the best army and airforce on earth. Not only are they resiliant, they are so tenacious and are so motivated to protect their livliehood from their arab neighbors that they can find the motivation to be best..

The US has by far the best navy on earth...this should go without saying

Special forces wise, SAS, GSG9, and Delta are the best, Royal Marines are comprable with Army Rangers.

Iran, Russia, or China still have nothing on the US, and would be obliterated if they ever went up against Nato.

The Russians lack discipline, motivation, and proper command and control to be an effective fighting force in a conflict against any western nation. They are a complete clusterfuck, it took them a week to completely neutralize GEORGIA, a nation with a 22,000 man army. pathetic
 
China....hands down. Just look at the number of solders......plus all we know about china is what they show us. Literaly they could have much much more weapons/technology under raps, just in case America pisses them off way way too much.

so if it took all these countries to take out the one (well technically japan and Italy as well) wouldint that make it a rather strong army.
 
I corrected myself on the page before, it was an F 15 vs the Sea Harrier(Carrier Born air to air capable) and the sea harrier beat them.

The only war we have lost in recent history is that with america, and it was more of a civil war than anything(I could be wrong, i dont study american history). Im not going to argue this anymore, as i said in my first post america would win because of money being put into it compared to other countries, so lets make a list, edit my list to what you think it is, and i will come to a conclusion.

1-USA(Technology and expertise)

2-Isreal(Numbers and Technology)

3-British(Toughest Training around and expertise(Longest running army ever))

4-Russia(Nukes and numbers)

5-China(Numbers)

6-France(Effective Airforce and Navy)

all i'm gonna say is that (and i know this for a fact) any soldier in the Canadian Forces qualifies for US Rangers, which is kinda wack considering how great the Rangers think they are...supposedly they're the best of the best, so it makes you wonder just how shit the regular US soldiers are...

 
....Chinese have the largest army but believe it or not the Swedish have the most technologically advanced. i watched a program about it. they buy any thing and everything. and if they dont have it they just make it. they even have the worlds first stealth boat fleet. this is because there so close to Russia but i dont no what Finland's army is like buy yeah there military has to be top notch. i dident no this until i watched this program i fot they were all quiet and friendly like jon but no there all nuts ...
 
I do, should I get started? I don't know if it's worth trying to convince everyone how badass just the Air Force alone is. I recently flew in an F-35 simulator (kind of a different upgraded F-22), and after locking on to 27 targets at once, I felt pretty powerful. A good pilot could pwn all.

Oh and who said a harrier "caught up" to an F-22? I'm pretty sure the F-22 is one of the fastest planes in our inventory right now, and it could definitely go more than twice as fast as a harrier. A harrier would rip apart before it got close to that speed.
 
Just to point it out, since I'm sure this will come up. The US would still be superior if we matched everyone man for man. A US pilot has thousands of hours of training by the time they become operational. Countries like Korea need something like 100. And the US does sell fighters to other countries (it's a great way to fund raise), but we would never sell a model that could beat our own...not every F-16 is the same...

The F-15 is still twice as fast as the harrier...so even though I missed that it still makes no sense. The harrier is a piece, and it will soon be replaced.
 
and by iraq's army i mean terrorists.

Id say terrorists have the best military in the world... because we dont know who they are.

Israel is pretty much the right hand of the US overseas.... so whatever technology they have was more than likely developed by the US and handed over to Israel.
 
The Israelis do buy a good deal of US equipment, but when they do they almost always improve it significantly. And they develop a lot of their own technology aside from that too.

 
oh boy here we go again!

OK lets settle this once and for all THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA HAS BY FAR THE BEST MILITARY ON EARTH. I'm not talking about size per se, i'm talking about money, tech, TRAINING, logistics, genetics, and mobility.

Lets start out with ground troops. No base level infantry in the world compares to the Marine Corps. Far and above the USMC has the best first level soldiers. Not only do they undergo some of the newest and most intensive training in the world, but they are very well equipped for an average soldier.

A USMC private currently serving these days gets the following: MARPAT cammies (developed in Natick MA), K-pot helmet, some form of MOLLE vest from the MLCS, USMC issue boots, and a m4 equipped with RIS, aimpoint, and surefire.

Next we have special operational soldiers. When you think of the world's elite SAS, Moussad, SEALs, SFOD-D (CAG; "Delta Force"), COD (Green Berets), Marine Force Recon come to mind. The thing to keep in mind here is that every last country who is a member of NATO employs the UNITED STATES' USSOCOM training. Our own training is always currently updated so really SAS is a 2 or 3 year old version of our Air Force TACP (tactical air control party). Certain forts such as Fort Bragg contain some oft he most state of the art training facilities.

And don't even try to argue that any armed forces training compares to SFOD, SEAL, or CIA's SAD training. If you want to know what SEAL training is like i reccomend reading the book, Lone Survivor. SFOD training is absolutely ridiculous. Look up some youtube videos of them. Search "Delta Force". Now CIA's SAD division's training is actually classified. They run some super weird psycho-physical program in an area they call the "Farm". This was fictionally portrayed in the movie with collin ferrel and al pacino. But the Farm is a real place.

Next we have equipment. Lets not even discuss non NATO countries as currently they are all really really under powered. So that said, all NATO countries right now have a standard IBA vest as their top tier body armor with the exception of the US. The US is in full wartime right now and has companies such as Eagle Industries, Allied Forces, etc manufacturing the MLCS. I don't want to list every piece of equipment in there but you can google it. More over, NATO countries all must use the 5.56 mm round as their standard infantry ammunition. Their magazines must all fit a m16 rifle or m4's mag well. Granted the UK uses the l-85, the french use the FAMAS, and the Canadians use the colt canada version of the m-16 the "C-17", but all those rifles are attempted copies of the m4. The m4 is the tried and true and with so many new variations such as the mk18 and cqbrs, our weapons are without a doubt top of the line.

very impressive jefferson davis but lemme clarify. The SAS GSG9 do not even touch Delta. We know who SAS and GSG9 soldiers are. Delta is the most secretive sons of bitches ever. Delta isn't even their real name. They are SFOD-D (alledgedly). No one knows who the fuck they are or what the fuck they are doing. In fact, they dont even wear US sanctioned camouflage. I have a satellite image of 3 SFOD-D guys wearing Crye Multicam not 3 color desert in iraq. Also they can pretty much carry whatever gun they want and they carry a lot of knights armament m16s and such.

Also Royal Marines are comparable with Army Rangers yes, but not Army Rangers 75th regiment. The 75th Regiment is like a completely different dispatch of the Rangers and are the ones you see in blackhawk down. They are members of SOCOM.
