Im a lens noob.

Im trying to put together some cool shots to use as Christmas presents for relatives, and I'm going to be in Moab this weekend so i figured i would take some shots there.

i figured i would head over to my local photography shop and rent a lens.

I own a 5d and they have pretty much any Canon lens up for rent - so I'm pretty clueless on what to get.

what are some options for good landscapes photos?

depends

what do you currently have?

something wide with little distortion (like a canon 14mm) could be nice, but something long could also be great (like a 70-200)

Zeiss 15/2,8 if they have it to rent.

Not with that corner sharpness and distortion

RODENSTOCK/ALPA HR ALPAGON 5.6/23 is what OP wants and needs.

Also get an Alpa, you need to mount that Rodenstock and it's clearly the only serious choice for serious landscape photography and the only serious choice to take serious pictures of it taking serious landscape pictures for serious camera porn threads.
