Best laptop brands (not apple)

The whole adobe suite works just as well on a PC as it does on a mac. The only real advantage macs have in that area is the Final Cut Studio, and thats really up to the preference of the user. The whole thing about macs being better for creative stuff is really just a myth. Sure, macs are prettier but they aren't inherently "better" for anything. Same goes for PCs with business. Microsoft Office for mac was actuall BETTER than for Windows up until they just released 2007. A lot of companies might have windows only software, but that has nothing to do with PCs being better.

And as for programming, most major programming languages work cross platform and its all up to the programmer which they prefer.

To answer the original question. I'd go with a Lenovo (formerly IBM). The thinkpads are really nice and they're skinny too.

I would personally go with a mac though.

Converting from a pc to a mac is pretty easy, macs are so user friendly, i like how they run much better than pcs. The shortcuts and stuff are way easy on macs, takes like a day to get used to it.

fuck hp. i had an hp and it was the biggest piece of shit ever, not to mention the customer service people were horrible. it would randomly turn off while i was using it, my usb porks would stop working intermitently, the touchpad didnt work, and i had to have the harddrive replaced twice, they never did anything about it.

Yeah, mac book pro, i like it so much better than my PC. But, the pc i have is about 4 years old, with just a pentium 3 so maybe i don't have the right view on current pcs.

one of my friends has a hp its an ok computer i really havent had any experience with sony computers a bunch of my friends have dells and they havent been working properly for a while now and they hate it...i got a mac and i love it im never going back to a PC again..i hope that helps oh yea toshibas pads are sometimes hard to use and annoying at least for me it was like thank oh well

i've got a sony vaio. it's awesome. and the screen is off the charts. it's two years old and still has a better screen than 90% of today's models.

agreed, best warranty and thats super important with laptops and they have kick ass machines, that was what was recommended to me by my IT department when i questioned them as I'm about to buy a laptop to. I will probably buy a Mac on their recommendation though.

Had a good chuckle to myself before noticing this thread was from 2007. Fuck you to whoever bumped this.
