Best in the East

I know this is an often talked about topic,but hometown-pride aside, what are the best places to ride on the right coast for both freeriding(trees,pow,bumps) and park...

I haven't skied everywhere, but in my opinion:

Freeride Hills

1. Jay

2. Stowe

3. Mad River

4. Cannon

5. Sugarbush

anybody ride Bretton's new trees? a lot of smaller mountains i havent skied. Also, Sugarloaf looks decent but its way up north.

Park-

Stratton, Mt. Snow, Sunday River, Okemo all have their good days. Any mountain can have a few good hits, but these parks are pretty extensive.

Let me know what you think, id like to find some new spots going off or little hills... Is Tenney gonna be good next year with the new freeski management and attitude?

 
Catamount, thought really small, had a nice park last year. I think they've got somethign of a scene going on, I might buy a pass there next year. But with my liscence coming soon, Id like to travel much much more. Get to kinda see the eastern seaboard a lil more.

Alright im a bit bias, but for some good backcountry and tree skiing cannon definately is really sick. there limited as far as stuff marked on the map goes, but with the number of hidden trails and mitersil, theres like a whole nother mtn, as far as the park goes were workin on it, and it got a lot better this year

*excluding Tuckerman's Ravine and Presidential Range

if you want a reeallly good pipe, go to smuggs, most underrated pipe in the east

i personally like mad river the best. it has sick trees and some nice cliffs if you know where to go. jay if right up there though. jay has some wicked sick stuff but i just dont like it as much. pluss it is wicked cold there.

yeah i heard waterville is super dope, but i have not been there either. not yet.

yeah i dont like mt snow either, the management is super gay. all they have is those 2 tables. the jibs blow with the exception of the kink(setup late season). pipe is garbage, and theres no variety. but theres no saying those bottom two tables aret sick.

id say waterville, its 30 bucks on the weekend, and park is sick. environment is totally chill. locals there are sick too.

bretton woods sucks in ever way possible...every cliff:flat landing crowds,trees suck, no park...why would anyone go there...i would have to say waterville has a really fun park

yeah the trees at jay are nice. for park blue mountain is good, but i havnt been to the other places listed.

 
i think stowe is the sickest because when you go off the trails its so sick and also you can hike up to the top of the mountain

how come bretton woods has no park, ive never been there cause its flat as hell and no park, but you'd expect a mtn with that much money to invest in a park, i mean even my mtn has started too and no one goes there,

tremblant is up there as far as parks go, and an often unheard of mountain called le massif alledgedly has tons of snow, is the tallest ski resort in eastern canada (maybe even all of eastern north america) and apparently is amazing for everything other than park. i cant verify this, though.

Mt. Snow's got a nice park. Sunday River is good too. Mad River is awwwesome. So is Castlerock Peak at Sugarbush- in my opinion best terrain skiing in the East. Jay's got some nice bumps.

rossiscratch and i ski bretton woods like every weekend it rules, this year they finally got their shit together and made a semi park and pipe next year its supposed to be more. The new trees and shit are sick too

best consistent woods runs in the east are at Smuggs if you know where to look. Stowe is a close second

the woods a bretton are pretty sick but if you want to learn how to ski bettr go to burke. It's by st johnsbury. tell before you go so i can try and meet you there.

surprisingly sunapee has some good hidden shit. and yes there park sucks and there pipe fucking sucks. but sunapee is the only east coast mtn. i know with a c-box,and that shit is fun. ocassionally you can have a good day at sunappee and theres a 25 footer in the woods

Park and Pipe wise Sunday River and Okemo are the best ive been to, i also thought loons park was pretty fun this year
