take a shuttle to Cypress or Seymour otherwise, the schedules are posted on the websites. It seems like cypress might have a better park this year, but Seymour would be your best bet
Yes, but the easiest/cheapest option(transportation-wise) is still Grouse. Especially if you have a Upass. And if you do decide on Grouse, I may be able to get you a sick deal on a pass up there...maybe.
I also have no car, live in New West, and rely on the loser cruizer, and in my experience Grouse is by far the easiest to get to, and has a decent park. Seymour is my second choice.
I've skied seymour and its' pretty fun. Gotta say, I love the restaurant on Grouse though, the Crows Nest or something... beers and wings by the windows afterwards...amazing.
seymour is best, all you do from burnaby is bus to phibbs, that takes like 10min, then bus to seymour, another 10 min, then hitch up, its so easy. and seymour is cooler. their whole mountain is slowly being changed to a park
seymour is not cooler. grouse is best. on a good snow day the back runs are pretty sweet. i had my one powder day there last season. and it was real powder. and when they have a park thats good too.
yeah Ive only been to Grouse once like 3 years. I was pritty impressed cuz I thought it was gunna be terrible. It was packed and snow was litte heavier than I like but what can ya do. So seems like it's between Grouse and Seymore for the better skiing in the Vancouver area, which is less busy ?
It's not..they're joking. If you wanna do seymour, buy your cheap pass from SFU Snowboarding
And btw, Grouse is by far the easiest to get to by public transit alone. Seymour will require that you either take the shuttle or hitchhike up to the base
If you want to ride backcountry, you just tell them you're going there, and they will let you on. Or just don't say anything when you get to the lift and they won't check your pass.
If you want to ride northlands park, you usually have to pay though.
seymour or freemore. they do not check passes. so you do not purchase one. if by chance they are. you take your trusty wire clippers out of you pocket and go to the parking lot and ask people for their passes. they kindly give you one. or you buy the seasons pass for 159 and "lose it". get a new one for 20$ and you and your buddy have seymour passes. scanners do not exist there. what a brilliant mountain
