looking for the best basyest headphones around. not for skiing just for when chilling. prise doest really matter just want them super legit! Something good for dubstep/electro/rap etc. thanks NS no hate ;)

beats by dr. dre seem to be the new thing, i dont have them but a few people i know do and they do have pretty amazing sound quality and bass, however they are a hefty price, personally, people hate on skullcandy but i've always loved them, the Hesh headphones by them have great sound quality and bass and are a fraction of the price of beats by dr dre

Most expensive in-ear Sennheiser headphones you can get your hands on.

In-ear > Headphones.

And if you really want headphones; don't buy skullcandy.

beyer dynamics dt770, price/quality unsurpassed, one of the better studio grade headphones without a doubt!
but should be treated with care; they're a precision instrument and are not suited for wearing while doing anything else then listening ...

for best performance, especially if you want loud basses you should also get a headphone preamp or an output device with a strong output signal, the average mp3/iphone can't support these babies to the fullest...

I dunno what you've ever stuck on your head but I found the Beats by Dre were god-awful. Totally flat, dead sounding headphones. OK so they're bassy, so what. Lots of sloppy, droning bass isn't a good thing.
If you want powerful, accurate bass without breaking the bank then some decent in-ear headphones will be great. They should stay in OK for skiing too if you wear a beanie over them. Something like Sennheiser, AKG, Shure are all good bets.
If you don't want in-ears then check out stuff like Grado and Sennheiser. Just bear in mind it's quite a few dollars that will smash into the snow if you bail when you're skiing with them.

Sennheiser HD 280 PRO.Pricy but unlike beats/skullcandy, you're paying for the sound quality. And in-ear is not even close to good headphones. But cheap, they are good. You said money not important though, so get the Sennheisers

my generous big brudder got me a pair of shure se115s (i think theyre like, $75ish?) in ear headphones and they are pretty darn good. i had a pair of ultimate ears superfi 4s, which incidentally broke rather quickly, but the sound was kind of treble heavy and that pesky cord made all sorts of noise when it rubbed up against anything and everything.

try em out! theyll rock the socks off of anything skullcandy makes. unfortunately, they dont come in nearly as cool of an array of neat kolor komboz.

no rainbow, rasta, or camo, and no kool skull logo. :(.

If you get into the audiophile headphones you will probably want a nice sound system to power them as well, just plugging them into your ipod or whatever for sure won't do them justice.

Id look into WeSC, great sound quality and the look dope, which is always a plus

Got these recently, the bass is amazing and there is no need for an amp or inline battery.

i use shure se425s when i'm performing, but i'm hoping for an Ultimate Ear endorsement before too long. there is really no other way

Weird, I'm actually listening to electro on my HD 280 Pros right now. They're a touch flat on the bass end, but the sound quality is super good for a $100 headphone--and you could push out more bass with an amp if you wanted. I'd never ski with mine, and don't even like walking anywhere with them for that matter, but for sitting at home and blowing my ears up they're great. I have some Grado SR80i's in the mail right now to test out next, I'm not sure if I'll keep both sets or end up selling one....eh.

And yeah, don't buy Skullcandy if you want your music to sound good at all. They suck across the board.

steel series, steeziest phones out there and they have way better sound quality than that cheapass skullcandy shit.

alright well heres my unsugarcoated but true advice...
skullcandys-SUCK. thats all there is to it, sure they might look cool, but the audio is pathetic, and then they break in like less than a month. Trust me, i must have gone through atleast 15 pairs of them before i really started reaserching headphones.
I also have beats by dre- theyre ok, but not worth their price at all. the bass is good, and same with the sound quaility, and theyre probably the most comfortable heaphones ive ever worn, but there just simply not worth $400, especially with how easily the top bad breaks. If you dont mind sinking the cash into them tho, youll enjoy them tho, they also have pretty good noise cancelation on them

if your just looking for a rediculous amount of bass, then get these two things togetherhttp://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-XB700-Diaphragm-Driver-Headphones/dp/B001RB24SWhttp://www.amazon.com/FiiO-E5-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B001P9EQH8

the second link there is a portable external headphone amplifier. For anyone that wants bass, like as in twin 15" car sub bass, then this is what you need.
those sonys unamplified already are pretty bassy since they have some of the largest drivers you can get in headphones, but with that amp plugged in too, theyll be fuckin bumpin for sure. Itll also improve sound quality too along with volume.
