Im looking for some info on the best fatty skis. I dont have a chance to demo them so Im asking you the people of ns to inform me. Im looking for something that can flow in pow and also rip in in tracked out snow, pow bums or heavy snow. I ve been looking at the Line Elizabeth and Prophet 130. Also Movement skis has a good line up. Let me know about these if you can and any other fatty you think is worth mentioning.

Thanks

right now i am riding the elizabeths and prophet 130s. the 130s are mounted slightly. if any, ahead of the recomended, and the elizabeths are mounted 2.5 cm back from true.

i would say the 130s are a better all mountain ski if you know how to ski and ski hard. i say this because the elizabeth doesnt ski crud. it is too soft to cruise over shit. the 130 can ski trees really well, is pretty damn easy for moguls (seriously), obviously is the best ski ever made for fresh, and can rip gs turns on groomers fine.

the only things the 130 arent good for is billy goating, faggy slalom turns, and side stepping. they are not good for billy goating because it is hard to stop instantly on your edge because it is hard to get a lot of weight over on it. charging through really hard nearly mogul fields with gs turns is sketchy too. because the edge is so far from under your foot you get bounced a lot.

the 130s are very agile and can turn through tight trees no prob. i would use them most days.

if you are more freestylie when you are all over the mountain you could mount the 130 closer to center, or go for the elizabeth. the lizzs are the most fun skis i have ever put on in my life, hands down. they are wicked in the trees, super turny on the groomers, very jibable, damn fun switch, and float awesome as well. yo ucan ski them fast in the trees but high speed exposure skiing isnt what they are about. it is amazing though to ski a centermounted ski that floats on anything. they can ski moguls fine too.

obviously im leaning towards big mountain rather than freestyle when you say all mountain. i say this because the prophet will ski anything on the mountain and get you down quick if you want. i would not feel safe skiing the lizzs on some runs (granted i ski whistler). the 130 however, isnt too comfortable tricking off lots of shit and going through the park

if you want a "big mountain- all mountain ski" go for the 130s.

if you want a "freestyle - all mountain ski" go elizabeth.

i think the volkl gotama is a really good balance, but is leaning more towards big mountain. i have 183s mountain on free ride and they are extremely un agile, freestyle or slightly forward would be really good in a long length. the prophet 100, slightly forward would be wicked too.

for reference im 5'6' and 150

yo eric i got to try next year's Scratch BC and the fuckin RIP. i was charging so hard on them in fresh snow, trees, crud, all conditions. look into it, i hvnt ridden most of the fatter skis but ive never had so much fun as i did on the bc.

Is there anyway I can demo those skis? I was able to demo the entire line of Movement skis, the swiss company, and they were pretty ill.

movement powpow def. a good bet. they're bringing out a superfat next year, might be worth a try, i forget the name
