hey, I have ARV's and they are awesome. Great in pow, but they also kill the park and all mountain. They are kind of soft, but that helps them be more versatile and they still feel stable at speed. Don't worry about construction. Armada really stepped up this winter and it is a completely different ski from last years ie: new sidewall and topsheet material for added durability. The only problem is they seem to have thin bases, my friend was riding his in BC last week and clipped a couple rocks getting two core shots, but that would probably happen with any ski.
I think the Gotama is a beefier ski, but from what I've heard it's not as versatile.
