Best face protection?

So today, my first day of skiing, i remembered how badly bandannas perform in the cold. they are warm for one run, till your breathe moistens them and the cold freezes them up. then its basically AC from there on and sucks

So my question is, whats the best face protection? Those black facemasks work for a while, but are usually too thick or once again do the same thing as the bandanna, just takes longer.

I'm looking for a cool looking, functional face protection to keep me from the gypsy sun rays and cold temps.

yo ash it depends on the material though too, bandanas dont have little holes to breath through, dakine sells a nice material bandana in "the vault" for 12 bucks with my discount, lukas that german kid bought one today and he liked it.

Or check out EC headwear, they have like neck scarve things, its cool

turtle furs are sick.. they kinda moisten up over time but i think they are great and they are so comfy

Line makes some that are fleece lined that supposedly dont freeze. they have some cool designs too if you really care.

I use a balaclava that is kind of baggy around the mouth so most moisture actually gets out. on super cold days I even have a gaper neoprene face/nose mask with the fleece inside and the holes at the mouth. this is for days that I like would not even ski if I didn't have to (training/competing) you look like an idiot but it is by far the best way to keep you face warm.

Try a Yowie, I've never used one myself but Im definitely gonna buy one this season cause I've heard good things.

I just bought these uvex googles. They protect my face from the wind and the cold. Plus i don't get hurt by tree branches in the woods. And they got mad steeze!!

Alright, my bad. I feel much shame. I can't stand wearing face masks. Tried when I was a kid and I concur. They ice up and make it worse. On super cold days I ski with a polar fleece gater. Also, for real, you can put some of this on your face V. No sun protection but it is great for super cold days.

Get A Nxtz!

they only freeze on the outside stretch spandex layer

while the drytech face cloth keeps close to face and keeps you warm

but lined bandanas always freeze

My friends use linen napkins and they work pretty well. I had my girlfriend cut a big bandanna in half then sew fleece on the inside and it works really well. I used it this week during the storm in mammoth and had no problems. I am going to spray it with silicone waterproofing this week to make it even better.

this works so well but dont cut it in half. i had my bandana in about 15 degree F weather and the outside froze a little but the inside waS nice and toasty. just make sure you only sow fleece to the inside and leave room to tye it on the sides.
