Best Editing software

I just got a go pro 2 for my birthday and i was just wondering what do you guys think is the best software for making edits. I do torrent by the way
 
Obviously it's dependent on your OS (Mac OS X/Microsoft Windows), but a good all around editor is Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5.5

Works on both systems and it very in-depth
 
Im sorry i use Microsoft. and i saw some one mention sony vegas or something like that how would that compare
 
For this I would wait.

I've experimented with Avid and as great as it is, it would be very confusing for just starting off. Besides, when the 64-bit edition drops it will be much better. Anybody know when thats gonna be?
 
I agree with you completely I just thought I would throw that out there just incase the OP wanted to tackle something like that.
 
Oh yeah for sure I completely understand. OP I like to use Premiere with After Effect, it has a couple nice features and usually it's good to download bullet looks once you get more into editing.
 
yes premier is fantastic but a simpler option if op really wants something no too complicated vegas 10 is also good
 
Vegas 11 pro has been working great for me lately. I've heard some bad things about premiere, if you have a fast computer and need fast turn around times, edius is great as well.
 
when i look up the programs on pirate bay the comments are comming back with quite a bit of negitve feed back

 
I still haven't torrented a software and had it work.... Let me know with a link if you find one that works
 
don't download it off pirate bay. Get the free trial from the Adobe site and then find a serial number online. Premiere/After effects is much nicer than Vegas IMO
