Best East Coast Mountain

Hands down you're an idiot.

Killington is junk, they're ownership sucks now and they fucked a ton of people. Plus their terrain isn't even close to being on the level.

Stowe, MRG, Sugarloaf, or Jay Peak. Hell, Killington is about the last place that I'd ski now.

ive been skiing their for the past 4 years and under the new ownership yes the prices have increased but the amount of people has decreased crazy three years ago i had to wait 20 min in line for each chairlift now theres no one and yes strattons terrain park does beat killys

I'm going with Bristol Mountian.

But honestly, I've seen such a decrease in the standards at Killy. It used to be so amazing, and now the actual skiing is so good but the atmosphere is terrible and the parks are shot.

Park:

1. Hopefully Mt. Snow next year

2. never been to loon but probably loon

3. SKI SUNDOWN

Not Park:

1. NOT Jay

2. Stowe?

3. whiteface maybe

i dont get out of VT, CT, MA much....

word. WV has a good park too. but overall my favorite is sunday river. that's pretty biased though because i used to go there everyweekend.

Killington by far. It has so much terrain that nobody knows about. Theres also a really chill local scene. It took me the past 8 years of my life to finally figure out the mountain. Theres alot of shit that people dont know about. I probably still dont know all of the secrets of the mountain.

mt. snow did have a good park last year, and this year shoul be even better.

ha, ski sundown?

and stowe has a pretty dope park too, and some pretty good skiing

Ski Sundown is a little place in Ct. I build park there, We try hard to keep up with the weather and events. It's fun.

When I do get to actually go skiing, I go to Jay or Stratton depending on my time constraints.

most laid back mountain ever is McCauley in Old Forge ny, it is small but everyone is real rad. Park I would say loon until Mount Snow does their thing. I dislike Killington, too many strong island kids.

HAHA dude Thats my exact same top 5!!

Great minds think alike

But yea, Stowe is definatly the sickest.

I live in Connecticut as well and I would have to agree that sundown has a decent terrain park. but Loon, stratton, Okemo and mt. snow all have better ones. how often you go to sundown?

deff not killy i only go there thankgiving weekend because they usually have the most open. But mid winter forget it its hell, long lines, crowded trails, icey park, and its fuckin cold

loon has epic parks

and mt snow should be epic this year with that entire side being park

Im going to try to put this as nicely as possible..but your an idiot. You completely contradicted yourself by saying you only go to Killington on thanksgiving but somehow you know what its like midwinter??? And what you put down for midwinter is actually partially right ill give you that. It does get icy but what mountain in the east doesn't get icy? Crowded trails? Not so much there were actually little to no crowds this year because Killington decided to take away the bronze, silver, and gold passes which in turn decreased there crowds by what seemed ten fold. Also Im not sure if you've noticed but it gets cold in the winter. Deal with it. Not trying to be a dick here but please know what your talking about before you post. Most of what you said is not true. Once again not trying to be a dick but I do need to stand up for my home mountain and let people know what Killington is actually like.

word man ill give you that, id do the same for my home mtn, the fact of the matter is im just comparing it to my experiences chill bro

Both Jay and MRG are sick for terrain. Never been to Stowe, smuggs, or sugarbush so can't speak with regards to those. For park both waterville and Loon are pretty sick. However every time i've been to loon it has had rediculously long lines which sucks. I don't like paying $65 for a lift ticket to only get 5 or so runs.

Park

Loon

Mount Snow

Okemo

Everything else

Jay Peak

Stowe

Bolton Valley (i know where all the secret stashes and stuff like that are)

LOON def has the best park..okemo and mt snow are also good.. id say jay is the best mtn on the east if you arent skiing park

WHITEFACE has everything. yeah, they have powder too. people who call it iceface dont know where the fuck to look. but as far as park goes, ive heard great things about loon.

also stowe and jay are up there with whiteface as far as all mtn goes

i gotta say killington is a very laid back place. sure every trail is super wide and everyone things they are herman myer and need to make fuckin gs turns but besides that its fun. coming from sugarbush the park was alot of fun. sure its no stratton or okemo or sunday river but its a good time. i met some of the chillest people who ski and ride there and are stoked for pow, park and yes they can even find a way to look at the bright side of things when the mountain is an iceball

lol at this becoming a killington hate thread, i personally never have fun at killy but i duno maybe if i was more familiar with the mtn id like it better.....

JAY!

aaaaahahha. dude get over killington, sure they have some cool runs, but 98% of their shit sucks, and the leftover 2% does not compare to the better east coast areas

park: LOON, SR, waterville, stratton

extreme terrain: MRG, Stowe, Jay, THE LOAF

So out of 200+ trails 4 of them are good? I was going to list all the trails that I actually do enjoy but why bother you probably havnt skied Killington. Or maybe you have but i doubt you know the mountain. I would have to say that Jay has the best snow in the East and some more extreme terrain but I personally believe that Killington is the best overall. Then again opinions are like assholes, everyones got one and they all stink.

^That just happened

Your rather ignorant. Even a mountain like Southington has 4 good trails. And your telling me Killington only has 4. Maybe you dont ski enough to appreciate a good mountain. Or maybe you've only skied on Ramshead at killington and your information is rather biased. Either way your wrong.

ya, that must be it. i dont ski enough, didnt consider that one. howabout my idea of a good trail isnt 200 feet wide and covered in gaypers? look man, pple are entitled to opinions, no need to call me ignant, i just feel that killington is one of the worst places to ski anywhere, for too many reasons. do yourself a favor and get out of southern vt for a while.

What trails are you talking about? And thanks for the advice im moving to colorado in the middle of august. Ive skied everywhere around NE so I do know other mountains.
